    Awesome, now I won't have to "field" test to figure out which shield absorbs the most damage. Plus I get this fun looking bar over my head.

    I do have a question though. Are the shields deflect damage based on the characters, and therefore armours, defence rating? And how would that work if you had a legendary shield compared to a common shield, would they both do the same amount of blocking, and everything else is just looks?

    I hope there is some kind of shield that creates a protective dome around you, but as a result you move much slower while blocking.

    I really like the mechanic but i don't like the bar over the head, i miss the little clock u put in the mock up.

    i'm waiting on the first of people saying: "Shields ?! this is a sci-fi game, you'd rather use a energy shield made of plasma" - "that's more sci-fi!"

    i do remember a discussion similar to this topic before, can't tell where or about what exactly it was, Just ridiculously stupid.
    It's a freaking game.

    Will there be any incentive to keep "upgrading" shields from later tiers?

    For example, is a T1 shield equal to a T10 shield (due to being based on the players' armor)? If that's the case, then we'll just find the prettiest/manliest/silliest shield and use that forever.

    To be fair, I don't think they were saying that there shouldn't be shields, just that an extra different type of shield would be cool.

    Shield health also goes up. 30 health isn't that much at T10...

    Although I have nice shields that I have discovered over my travels, I still would not use them since my immediate inventory 10 slots would be most my ax, bow, food, bandages, torches, wooden platforms, and blocks to guard me from mostly anything. Otherwise, I have seen what they can do against heavy projectile NPCs and monsters. But again, usually my guerrilla warfare tactics is what survived me this whole time.
