    Ya see, content wise, it's exactly what I wanted: More Dungeons, More Weapons, More Lore, Stories, all that stuff. It's amazing really, and it's all done really well.


    My problem lies in the lore. In vanilla Starbound, each race has a main "Issue" to deal with: Novakids don't remember shit, therefor they have no real identity or staying power as a species; Florans are possessed by a constant hunger they must deal with in order to interact with society; Avians have their brutal religion and their wish to fly again; the Glitch are stuck in medieval times no matter what; Hylotl need to learn that they are not perfect, along with whatever the heck Lethia is doing ; The Apex - ok if you can't guess this one there's no hope for you, ok? But anyway, Humanities was that we have to fight against falling into non-existence as a species, due to like 90% of us being dead.

    This mod replaces our problem with something more akin to the Apex's problems, with all of us being at war with each other, and I'm not certain if I like that.

    That's just my two cents though.

    Us as humans in the real world suffer from conflict. The human race has been toiled in conflict and war for most of its history. We, as a real species are extremely diverse yet the same. To simply say "humans should be this because theme" disregards any individualism that should be present in any sentient species. Oh well, the point of this mod was to instill individualism and make a point that war will still drive despite the odds.

    You make the judgement that I am blind as if I "must have a high IQ to understand Starbound". Using the Apex as an example of "war" is utterly misrepresentative as there is never two sides of a war. There is no inclusion of political parties and crime, just "freedom fighters good guys" and "evil corporate scientist baddies". There is no deeper meaning to the Apex's "war". You also point it out as if the Apex is unique to their "war everywhere" issue. Look on Earth and you'll see we've had two world wars, a war where the world stared nukes at eachother, a war with napalm and now the modern middle east within 100 years.

    Anyways wall of text over. Wanted to get the point that being of the same species doesn't mean we're all the same. That, and to make a mod about humans that isn't just the USCM.

    My apologies if I came off condescending, it's something I've been working on.

    I see your point, but after the Protectorate USCM split, wouldn't a lot of the conflicts end? After all, those who disliked the protectorate enough to make war could just join the USCM and never come back.

    But I digress, this is just me being nitpicky and all. From what I see in your mod (I will admit I have yet to find everything), the Protectorate is still in the right and all, and the Rebels, Redyans, and the like are too small to make a difference or represent humanity on a universal scale, so my qualms are all really pointless. And yet I post them anyway...

    You are very much so misled on the lore of US.E although atleast you admit you haven't discovered everything. The BG lore mentioned in the description/overview is an extremely barebones version of the actual reason the war even started in the first place (detailed in the Earth Newspaper Codices). The BG in the overview makes no mention of the countries of Earth and how the Protectorate startes off as a political party, eventually creating a "unified military", every race in one military.

    The story changes rapidly from there on out and gets much darker and "triggering" if you will, as the Protectorate never actually were the "good guys" everyone believes (as I was really [EXPLETIVE] sick of everyone frothing over them and treating them like gods while dismissing individuality of people and making it as if a single race should only have one culture). That is to be discovered via codices.

    Also as you say "redya" is unimportant, yeah their planet, Eve-4 become a 2nd Earth after a flood of refugees poured onto their planet.

    From my storybuilding perspective, everything should be displayed in a good and bad light. The US (United Systems) Rebels are a mighty powerful army but can be barbaric and unorganised. The United Systems are also not related in any way to the USCM. The 'Systems are a culmination of Earth's Militaries.

    For the Protectorate, they had nice living conditions and very nice people. The bad side... well saying it would hurt alot of people's feelings.

    Also the USCM have no major part in this story. They're a dying PMC worsened by the Rebels and Miniknog hunting them down (neither are allied either. "Enemy of my enemy is my ally" doesn't apply).

    Also 2: Simply saying "couldn't they just go away from Earth?"... Imagine being kicked out of your house and losing everything. Sure they could go to Redya or Isiga but Earth is the homeworld of humanity and to lose it because someone else "rightfully" claimed it and kicked everyone else out (why the war began, politics). They (Global Ententé/Alliance against the Protectorate) had a chance to take back Earth, so they did. Until the Ruin poked it.

    Even after this political viewpoints kept the war going. It's not [EXPLETIVE] sunshines and rainbows with peace and flowers.

    As soon as I read the mod title I went "YES", expecting a change to the USMC (dem evils corporations). I'm glad I was wrong.(I'm aware that the United Systems is a different thing)
    I really like the idea of the protectorate not being the "perfect good guys who can do no wrong" and that there is actual conflict between morally gray factions. I'll definitely give this mod a try on my next playthrough(I'm playing something else at the moment and real life doesn't help). Also I hope you can aid the rebels in an eventual branch of the storyline.

    In the future yes there will eventually be Rebel missions for the Rebellion instead although that'll take a while as joining the Rebellion is actually planned (concept as of right now) to be part of an entirely different war. It'll take a veeeeery long time before that happens (at that point you'd probably lose interest in this mod).

    As for the USCM "Evil Corporation" they sorta exist and the Rebels believe they are the Evil Corp while the remaining USCM are only trying to survive after their collapse.

    Ever thought of crossing over the "infested" planet type with warzone? Could be a pretty cool scenario, whatever occupying forces desperately trying to halt the growth and regroup .

    Also great work, the planet's add a lot of flavor to the Universe

    Probably cool, but horribly ineffective. Orbital bombardment all the way and no need to risk soldiers to destroy an entire planet's worth of organic mass out to kill you. Unless they're growing in caves and stuff.

    uuuh probably not. Wouldn't have enough uniquity to justify (or probably because I'm burnt out after 1 month of working on the NH update (or 6 months because CF version)). Maybe in the future with some changes to the proposed idea, but not anytime soon. Thanks for the compliment tho.

    Thats what i was thinking too, an infectious mass like the ruin would either trigger a full evacuation or over take the planet quickly similar to the prologue, so ground combat wouldnt be practical
