    Lissar's Mod-nado (Xenoblade Monado Mod)! v. 0.1 (compatible with beta v. Frustrated Koala)

    This mod allows you to use the Monado from Xenoblade in battle! The mod is set up so that you install it at the beginning and the Monado will be available in your ship inventory when you start the game with a new character. Using the Monado with characters you already have will require you to make a separate recipe file for the first iteration of the Monado (copy one of the recipes I already have in the recipes file and then set what you want to use to craft it. I recommend only having money required for easy access!)

    New content in v. 0.1:
    Monado upgradable up to tier four.

    I. Installation is easy!
    II. Using Multiple Mods
    III. What's to come?
    ----

    I. Installation is easy!

    Create a mods folder (if you don't have one already) in your Starbound directory (Steam/steamapps/commmon/Starbound) and put the Monado folder in the mods archive.

    Then go to the file of your operating system (for example, Win32) and open up the bootstrap.config file in Notepad++ or similar program. Edit the bootstrap to locate these new assets. If you don't have other mods, it should look like this:

    {
    "assetSources" : [

    "../assets",

    "../mods/Monado"

    ],
    "storageDirectory" : ".."
    }

    If you add other mods to your bootstrap, remember to add a comma after every entry in the list except for the last one.

    ----

    II. Using Multiple Mods

    If you are using other mods in addition to this mod, make sure you aren't trying to use MORE THAN ONE of any file. If multiple mods are modifying the same file, it will only use information from the file at the top of the load order, and some information might not load. To prevent this, add all the information you need from multiple mods into a single file.

    Changes made to the player.config file:

    monado, monado2, and monadocircuit1 added to tier1
    monado3 and monadocircuit2 added to tier2
    monado4 and monadocircuit3 added to tier3
    monado5 and monadocircuit4 added to tier4

    Changes made to defaults.treasurepools:

    monado added as starting equipment for each race

    Changes made to wire.recipe:

    Changed "crafting table" to "craftingtable" to enable it, added it to the "other" category.

    ---

    III. What's to come?

    Once all ten tiers are available in game I'll create ten upgrade levels for the Monado.

    Continue to balance the weapon as the devs continue to balance the game (slightly unbalanced at the moment, first upgrades might be a little too powerful?)

    Likely change upgrade version of the Monado and Monado Circuit Board to Monado I, Monado II etc. to avoid confusion.

    Pie in the sky dreams:

    Create a quest line related to the Monado and the story of Xenoblade.
    Create an animation when swinging that opens the Monado and shows the actual blade.
    Nexorrus, edrobot and sibecromwell like this.

    4/5,

    It's a pretty nice mod, but the fact that the Monado doesn't sit in the hand right (compared to the other 2h swords) kind of irks me a bit.
    I'm looking forward to what you do with the mod, though.
