    • New throwable item: Toxic Barrel! Crafted from durasteel and toxic waste
    • Most thrown items now show their level (if appropriate)

    • Bone Caves can now generate ash
    • Added new 'bush' decorations to various biomes: savannah, swamp, crystal caves, desert
    • Added a new random structure to encounter: executioner slaughterhouse!
    • Forest biomes now spawn deciduous trees which sometimes drop apples or oranges

    - Misc
    • Added a DPS test dummy! Craft it at a wiring station
    • Mazebound64 and Beautiful Attempt arcade cabinets are now printable
    • Glass Bottles now have a unique 'on a plate' sprite
    • Generated 'cook this for me' NPC quests now recognize Betabound food items
    • 1 new hairstyle for male humans; 12 new hairstyles for female humans (not my fault CF scrapped that many)
    • Junk Tech block is now a default recipe
    • Added a recipe for Ridged Block (now known as Ridged Brick) and Waste (toxic waste block)
    • Preservatives have been reverted to their old behavior (reset rot timer). The new Flash Freeze Spray uses the previous behavior (completely disables rot timer and enables stacking)
    • Added thread; a new material crafted at an upgraded spinning wheel, used for T3+ items instead of string
    • Peacekeeper Desk now purchasable at Peacekeeper Furnishings
    • 'Wet' status effect now allows you to water crops by walking over them. Also slows and decreases jump height slightly
    • Enable three unused eating sfx. Used when the player eats something
    • Brooms can now sweep sand/grass/snow/etc off the top of blocks

    -=- Changes -=-
    - Weapons
    • Added unused vanilla flavor text to some Betabound weapons (grenade/rocket launchers, assault/burst rifles, pistols, shotguns)
    • Nerf burst ability on crossbows
    • Uzis and Avian Blasters now visibly recoil when firing
    • All but 3 of Betabound's staves no longer do friendly-fire damage! The ones that still do are the Slime Staff, Rockalanche Staff, and Cardinal's Chalcedony
    • Fixed any incorrectly positioned muzzle flashes for all guns
    • The 'slow flame' projectile for guns has been replaced with-- and you're never gonna believe this-- 'FAST flame'!
    • Change Plasma Shuriken to be more like the other shurikens/throwing stars
    • Guns that use ammo now display the amount of the currently loaded ammo, rather than the total amount of all stacks of ammo in your inventory. If you have multiple stacks, a plus will appear after the ammo count. If your current stack of ammo is larger than 9999, a golden plus appears. Also, the ammo counter has a grey border
    • Changed the 'this gun can use ammo' tooltip message in gun tooltips to be more obvious

    - Sprites
    • New icon for some tech, crafting materials, objects, tools, and food (Glow tech, plutonium ore, holiday crafting table, chainsaw, standard issue oven, basic oven, tall/wide prison locker, data station, old radiatior, chained metal bed, market clothes stall, wrecked terminal, primitive crate, metal crate, wrecked crate, wide rusty filling cabinet, rusty filling cabinet, barbed wire, water cooler, market weapon stall, wide wrecked crate, vegetable soup, lollypop, orange)
    • Add borders to fluffalo feeds

    - Equipment
    • Changed Sprint's description; no longer implies that the only body techs are dashes
    • Sprint no longer prevents other movement abilities, such as double jumps or rocket boots
    • Sprint no longer momentarily resets your velocity
    • Players must go a bit deeper into the Ruin to obtain the Master Manipulator. SAIL will message the player when the artifact spawns
    • Weapon Upgrade Kits now work on shields
    • Stone Hoe now has durability (50); vanilla hoe now crafted with tungsten instead of copper. Vanilla hoe is unbreakable
    • Stone Axe now has a block radius of 2, up from 1
    • Chainsaw now has a block radius of 3, up from 2. Also has a new icon and smoke particles
    • Flash Freeze now prioritizes whichever max stack value (item's or default) is higher when adjusting max stack
    • Relocators now display how many monsters are inside them in their inventory icon. To get this on pre-existing relocators, completely empty them then refill them
    • Items that display text near the player (including ammo-using guns) now have a grey border
    • Reduced the price at which merchants upsell preservatives
    • Changed the text of Fluffalo Feeds to put emphasis on the whole "instantly matures them" thing
    • Various minor QOL improvements to certain held items, like blueprints, tech unlocks, ship enhancements, etc

    - Removals
    • Removed blue/green/orange/yellow glow fibres; they served no purpose other than to be crafted into standard glow fibre. Any existing copies of these items will automatically be transformed into standard glow fibre
    • Removed Critter Capture and Transport Pods as their roles are already filled by existing vanilla items: the Relocator and Pet Tether. The Transport Pods were originally meant for a unique pet leveling mechanic which I no longer intend to implement for Betabound. Besides, pets scale with your armor and they can use collars. Existing Critter/Transport pods will be converted to capture pods and can release their captured creature, though empty pods will be converted to vanilla capture pods.
    • Capture Pods are no longer printable at the Portable Pixel Printer
    • Remove Spicy Tomato Soup because it is too similar to Chilli Stew

    - Misc
    • For users of the Growing Trays mod, kelp and seaweed are now acceptable fertilizers
    • Monsters that spawn in the Coral Cave biome are now immune to lava
    • Peanut Butter Jars are now classified as a condiment rather than a dessert
    • Capture Pods and Pet Tethers are now of rare rarity rather than common
    • Canned Meatballs price raised from 20 to 75; Canned Food price increased from 40 to 125. (Note that the canned food change will only take affect if it is not already changed by the time Betabound loads)
    • Scribe's Desk now has 24 slots, up from 16
    • Increase Box of Chocolates price and rarity
    • Fungal Stim now regenerates 300% health rather than 200%
    • Decrease tech unlock item price
    • New space station control panel icon. Interface also shows gravity as a numeric value
    • Racial tech stations are now racial tech binding stations. Removed tech equipping functionality; kept binding functionality
    • "Help! I need somebody!" quest now gives you a tech binding station which matches your race. If no such station exists, you get a human one.
    • Elliot's tech dispenser sells tech binding and tech development stations regardless if you've completed any quests
    • Vault Keys have a price
    • Vault Key Trader now accepts 10 leather as a trade. C'mon, it's in the `monsterdrops` folder. Leaving it out is just unfair to leather!
    • Many foods buffs and/or duration changed
    • Red Apples can now spawn as produce
    • If Story Disabler is installed, skip having SAIL tell the player about unlocked quests based on their story progress
    • The Glitch Mercenary at the outpost no longer misgenders their friend
    • Redundant coffee machine object removed (automatically transforms into vanilla coffee machine; break and re-place it). Functionality moved to vanilla counterpart. Recipes work with mods that change how the coffee machine works (FU, CN More Farming)

    -=- Recipes -=-
    - Changes
    • Cupid's Bow now requires durasteel, since it's T4... and made from a T1 bow, at a T1 station
    • Fungal Stim now requires plant fibre
    • Betabound's T6 furnace materials now require plutonium instead of gold
    • Transmutation recipes for T5 ores now use platinum rather than gold• Blank Blueprints are no longer craftable at the Iron Tool Table; they are now only available at refineries and upgraded spinning wheels
    • Iron Axe is now exclusively crafted at a Foraging Table
    • Portable Pixel Printer recipe adjusted
    • Metalworking/Compounding Upgrades now exclusively at Inventor's Tables
    • Mining tools, weapon upgrades, and ship enhancements now have their own tabs in the tool table interface
    • Cerulium Compound now requires a gold bar to craft
    • The amount of secondary materials used in crafting biome weapons have changed
    • Scarecrow now craftable at furniture table; plant fibre requirement changed from 40 to 10 because 80 total fibre is ridiclous for an object which confers no benefit
    • Mannequin now craftable at T1 spinning wheel. I made it craftable at the T1 furniture table, and it uses copper so it's a T1 item. No reason for an inexpensive glorified wooden chest to be locked behind T3

    - Removals
    • Remove 'slime hand grapple from only slime' recipe; adjusted 'slime hand grapple from slime and rope' recipe
    • Remove 'yellow stimpack from toxic waste,' 'green stimpack from bio sample,' 'antidote from bio sample,' and 'antidote from poison creep' recipes
    • Removed upgrade module recipes for Halogen and Xenon packs
    • Halogen Pack now uses titanium bars rather than durasteel, so now we have a T3 and a T4 light pack instead of two T4 packs!
    • Remove pixel requirement for several Heart Forge items, and the Heart Forge itself

    -=- Bug Fixes -=-
    • From a hotfix on 3/SEP/2023: Combinable Augments fix for Energy Regeneration Augments
    • From a hotfix on 4/SEP/2023: Hunting Knife fix
    • Fix Cell Zapper being held awkwardly
    • Improved Food Descriptions now recognizes status effects on preserved food
    • Vanilla bug: Ooglers do not spawn in bone caves
    • Serpent Droid is now properly weak to electric and resistant to poison
    • Fix Bone Hammer not spawning more frequently in surface bone biomes
    • Bowling Balls no longer do ice damage
    • Fix Party Popper, Poison-Down Cake, Floran Skull Mask (you're not gonna believe this-- the file name in vanilla is misspelled. "floaran"), Overdrive Guitar, Fire Bow recipes not unlocking
    • Industrial Bed recipe now appears
    • Black cat from the Erchius Mining Facility is now persistent and properly recapturable. The persistency only applies to newly generated cat-pods
    • Fixed particularly fast melee weapons sometimes missing. This is because the enemy's "I already got hit by that damage source, so I'm immune to it for the time being" period hasn't worn off
    • Vanilla bug fix: vending machine count widgets are now clickable
    • Can no longer use certain techs (skyrail rider, bouncy, jeep) while lounging
    • Fix Sealed Meatballs icon showing incorrectly in certain modded interfaces
    • Fix Force Pad regions for 'facing right' and 'facing down' being slightly off
    • Ammo bought from novakid merchants no longer have a 'level' value, and thus become infinite ammo

    -=- Technical Changes/Translation Notes -=-
(Entries which effect translations are marked with an exclamation point. Note that new files will not be noted here, only changes to existing files)
! Move randomgen guns to their subfolders
! Move bone guns out of randomgen folder
    • Crossbows now have a definition
    • Preserved food now keep their original internal item ID, in case they need to be referenced later. Only applies to newly created preserved foods
    ! sb_techunlocks.questtemplate changes (remove `adjectives`, `radioMessage`. Add `radioMessages`)
    • `/stats/sb_effects/movement/jellied.statuseffect` renamed to `jellyslow.statuseffect`
! `/interface/tooltips/sb_gun4.tooltip` and `/interface/itemdescriptions/sb_gun4.itemdescription` have new strings to translate. The 'Craft ammo at an anvil!' message color has been changed from grey to green, and the message itself has been changed. The message now appears in the itemdescription file (shown when crafting)
! Many items in `/items/active/starbound/` have been moved to their own subfolders. `buffs`, `gps`, `hawkeyes`, `healthmonitor`, `ladderdeployer`, `portable3dprinter` (moved from `/items/generic/unlock/`, I think? It was definitely somewhere in `/items/generic/`), `watch`, `wateringcan`. The only item which remains is `radio.activeitem`.
! Fluffalo Feed (`/items/active/starbound/feed/`) has had their descriptions changed to reflect that they instantly mature fluffalos.
    ! Some tools in `/items/tools/` (`sb_chainsaw.miningtool`, `sb_stoneaxe.harvestingtool`, `sb_stonehoe.tillingtool`) have had their extensions changed (`sb_chainsaw.activeitem`, `sb_stoneaxe.miningtool`, `sb_stonehoe.activeitem`)
! `/items/generic/other/sb_ammo.item` description changed to provide more information on how ammo is used
    ! `/items/generic/produce/orange.consumable` description changed
! Made a string from `/xrc/deployment/versioning/0018z_2.lua` translatable. Find it at `/betabound.config:changedQuestRewardsDescription`. It is the string from the `giveBox` function.
    • `sb_power` crafting group changed to `sb_rage`
    • `sb_mobility` crafting group split into `sb_runboost` and `sb_jumpboost`
