Betabound! v12e

A base-game enhancement mod featuring new content! Not an overhaul.

  1. Racial shortswords; less boss grinding; throwing weapons!

    1. Treasured Trophies now sells boss drops!
    2. Any aimable shield mod you have should work on our shields now!
    3. Craftable throwing weapons! Grab one and check your Metalwork Station! There's 3.
    4. You can change the cover of blank/written books!
    5. Craftable Weapon Upgrade Anvil; Mech Assembly Station; Mech Crafting Table!
    6. Racial shortswords!


    -=- Merchants -=-
    • Human merchants now sell beta Candy Apples instead of vanilla versions. They also sell their associated blueprints.
    • The above, but with Glitch and Automatos.
    • The above, but with Avians, Avesmingo Ice Cream, and Pearlpea Parcels.
    • Again, reduced the chance of blueprints appearing for non-Novakid weapons/armor.
    • Added racial hammers and shortswords, along with their respective blueprints, as possible offers.
    • Stim Merchants no longer have the option to wear pilot goggles. It looked bizarre.
    • Oil now has a price value of 8 Pixels.
    • Level 2 Tool Merchants now sell oil.
    • Tool Merchants now sell Explorer's Lanterns. They're pretty costly, and they don't GIVE credit...
    • Rearranged the order of items sold by Tool Merchants for no reason in particular. :)

    -=- Throwing Weapons -=-
    • Throwing Daggers, Throwing Axes, and Iron Hunting Spears are now craftable! They have prices, too!
    • Hunting Spears can be made at Wooden Crafting Tables.
    • Bombs now make blocks and ores drop, Terraria-style.
    • Expanded on the descriptions of a few items.

    -=- New -=-
    • Toxic Broadsword; Rocket Launchers, Procedural Axes; Shatterguns, and Burst Rifles!
    • Candy Canes! Unless you've got some leftover Holiday Spirit, you'll have to change your system clock or wait for December, unfortunately. No, Frackin' Christmas breaks loot pools for many mods and should not be used.
    (Candy Canes drop from the Odd Gift Boxes.)
    • Black Blocks! Ten shadow rocks make five black blocks!
    • Falling Blocks! Check your Portable Pixel Printer.
    • Racial shortswords!
    • Glowfibre Chest!
    • Merchant Spawners!

    -=- Weapons -=-
    • Wooden Crossbows have more color options!
    • Ice Chuckers now have level options other than '2.'
    • The DPS and level of the broken swords have been decreased.

    -=- Shields -=-
    • Procedural shields now have a starting price of 600 instead of 100.
    • A few new shields! Some are unused (albeit functional listed from the Spawnable Item Pack Patch). Three or four are obtainable.
    • Glitch Lords now sometimes drop a shield.

    -=- Loot Pools -=-
    • Made water balloons much less likely to appear in ocean chests. Did you know that they're actually programmed to give items OTHER than water balloons? It's true!
    • Certain 'themed' weapons now have a higher chance to appear in themed chests.

    -=- Crafting -=-
    • The Weapon Upgrade Anvil is now obtainable via the Terraforge.
    • Mech Assembly and Mech Crafting Tables are now craftable at a Robotic Crafting Table!

    -=- Tech -=-
    • The Shield tech now prevents all foreign damage instead of granting a massive defense boost!
    • The Shield tech's timer now appears over the player's head when active.
    • Added two new tech: Grit and Defense implants!

    -=- Misc -=-
    • You can now change the cover/icon of writable books.
    • Having over 100 defense no longer makes you invulnerable.
    • Bottles are now craftable at a Magnetic Crucible.

    -=- Bug Fixes -=-
    • Odd gift boxes are no longer infinitely reusable. They also drop money.
    • Moved the Swamp Chest down by one pixel.
    • If Weapon Assembly is installed, the Weapon Assembly station will no longer... Basically, if you put a Pulse Rifle in it, you'll get "Pulse Rifle <part>" instead of " Rifle <part>".
    • The Rager uses orange gas now. Yeah, I wanted to make it a hueshift of the red gas, but that didn't work (I even added processing and all that) so I just... yeah.
    • The 'Guard Break!' message no longer tries to fly away.
    • Moved some Rusticks in the Dantalion so they connect. Huh? "Replacing entire dungeon files?" No.
    • The following screen objects no longer have a useless tooltip preview: Data, Spaceship, Star Map, Glyph, Brain Activity
    • The Cultist General Head's rarity is now rare.
    • Manipulator Modules, Upgrade Modules, Tech Cards, Autochips, and Autodrives now go into the reagent bag.
    • Glowing plasma weapons should be the right color again.
    • Cultist Airlock Door's rarity now matches its non-airlock counterpart.
    • The Cultist Airlock Boss Door is printable-- I'm not going to change that. I have changed its rarity to Uncommon and noted that it's a one-way door, however.
    • Shattered Alchemy: The Rager now goes into the Potion Bandolier.
    • Fixed 4 of the T rex fossils not having a price.
    • Increased the prices of the Medium and Large fossil display stands by 50 and 100, respectively.
    • Rusty Blocks drop themselves instead of Rusty Metal.
    • Moved the display icon of the Fire Resist Augment 1 pixel to the right.

    • Ancient Small Console, human description...
    • Large Floor Spike... Small Floor Spike...
    • Weapon Upgrade Anvil...

    • Brain Activity human description... period changed to question mark...
    • Fixed a double space (literally double space-- like, "double space" instead of "double space") in one of the Novakid codexes
    • Legionnaire's Breastplate's description now fits in the crafting GUI
    • Much more punctuation...
