the water pressure on deep seas is different of water pressure of a water pocket in a cave on deep seas have a high pressure because of the amount of water over it + the gravity on water pocket the pressure is high when there is a huge amount of water on a small space, like in a ballon
I think it would be interesting to have some sort of foaming effect occur when water at a high velocity hits a surface.
Speaking of high velocity, if there are tides in the game, it would be cool if your player could be knocked to the ground from a violent wave. Not damaged, just like, knocked back or knocked down.
on the game the game will not calculate the pressure of the water precisely, it will just calculate enough for the equalization edit: if the pressure were calculated precisely and all the physic were applied, when diving, you not only would have to see the O2 level but the pressure too, or you would get crushed on deep waters and die edit2: on the water demo, the water pockets where created using a command, that's how they could compress the water on those cubicles
Ohhh right! I forgot about that, lol. Water has been improved tenfold since terraria. The old mechanics sucked, just saying.
Not a bad idea, but I'm not really to on-board by having lighting being affected by things other than, well, lighting.
It's not really lighting effects as it is more of water transparency. The more water compacted into a space the more opaque the water will appear, the less water the more transparent. It's simple!
They could at least but a feature of pressure for water that way if you go deep enough w/out good gear then *crunch* Game over... While there at it maybe different planets would have different surface preassures and gas giants would have enough to kill you always as you can't land on them as the pressures are so high anything will be crushed, anything... even atoms...
If we have the technology to instantly travel to other planets, we have the technology to compress water.
