I missed the deadline for last weekly pixel off, heres what I had started for it...
EDIT: actually just realized that I still have time! time to get to work.

 

It's supposed to be an huge explosion or that's the sun?

 

Thats the sun, I made it to look like the starbound logo's sun

Three Headed Dog FTW! (cerebrus)

 

Theres a couple things wrong with this.
1. You used somewhere around 7 colors for one that needed 4
2.You used like 5 colors for lighting when it needed only 1
3.I see some jaggies on the heads!
4. (more of a preference than an actual issue) you used an outline for the rest of the piece, so why not on his collar?
Tre to recreate it with 3-4 colors including outline. (I'd go for remaking it in 3 but if you run into an issue use 4 if you have to)

Much better, but you broke a major rule (in my book) you used different sized pixels! gotta use the same sizes :I also I'd look at some lighting/shading tutorials you kinda pillow shaded on this one...

 

I need some help from you guys - here's a piece I am currently working on.
I am too tired of it and I cannot understand what's wrong with it, but it is obvious that this is too far from being perfect.
Can you please give me some advices?

So, it's a moth monster like thing right, and its probing skulls? Like the orange probes on the side of it, are they the antennae?

I'm not sure if that's the way it's supposed to be, but the left black wing looks to be over the orange ones while the right black wing looks under the orange ones.

 

May aswell put some of mine aswell.

The wings should be attached on top of the animal's body imo.
Also I don't know if that thing is supposed to have an head but I can't see it.

 

The wings are intended to be on sides of the body

Tried to fix other issues. The wings are looking a bit boring, but I don't know what to do with them..
upd:

 

Perhaps it's looking a little off because of the shape of the front wings? It's very circular, as opposed to triangular. The colour of the forewings also throws the drawing off a little...needs a bit more translucence maybe?

Why didn't I notice the wing shape problem..
I am not sure about how translucence can be implemented - it is the thing I always wanted to do, but wasn't able to.

now it looks far better imo.
