i'm always happy to hear when others don't like it, because i always find it awkward to say "yeah i don't like twokinds at all" when most people tout it as great
even though it isn't at all :v

Disney films with talking animals are like necronomicon that drives you in a certain way of mad, got it. Robin Hood made me hate foxes so I can't wait to see in what sort of Hitler Zootopia will turn me into.

Unfortunately, I'm the box guy and not the sock person.
You could fill one with socks, sure, but I don't have any with socks already in them...

I've been experimenting with a different style of arting, a kinda more comic-book, graphic novel style approach, could I ask for some critique on it?

As for zootopia, I honestly cannot bring myself to watch it. I've seen a few too many nasty images on the internet to be able to see it as my view has been tainted forever.

Have you ever heard of Mike Mignola by any chance? You know the guy who drew Hellboy? That looks a lot like his style, it even sticks to three colours like most of his panels. I really, really, dig this style as it simple, readable and at same time really expressive.
On an unrelated note here's a pilot of a cartoon based on Mignola's works that also uses similar artstyle yet never became full series because reasons. What tools did you use to achieve these looks, anywas?

As for Zootopia being corrupt by porn, eh, I saw some weird stuff and I am still okay with it. I think you can keep both things separate.

  16. I used to read Twokinds but at some point decided that I had better things to do with my life than hope it would improve.
Unfortunately I can't say much besides "I like it and I think it looks great." -Which is true, but, not very useful as critique.
...Actually, if you plan on using this in a comicy setting, the question I would have is: does this take you more or less time to make than your "regular" art style?

I can't say I've heard of him, no. I was actually inspired by general Dieselpunk style and the game Darkest Dungeon, though I'll definitely take a look! Tool wise, I just used Photoshop. I used a hard size 15 brush for the outline and block shadow (all done on one layer) and the colour on another, The shadows and highlights were also on separate layers. As for in-software tools, all of it was done with the same hard brush set to pen pressure. (obviously the size varied when colouring and shading) Hope that helps~

I'd actually say it's a bit faster, this style allows me to omit some details while still keeping a nice aesthetic which I'm quite fond of! But thanks none the less~ c:

Diselpunk?! Did you mean Dark Gothic? Because there's absolutely nothing dieselpunk in DD. On an unrelated note dieselpunk is great too.

Oh no, I don't meant that the two are related, I've seen a few picture of Dieselpunk that were in that style, but what really got the gears working in my head was seeing darkest dungeon, I just decided to blend the two~

And I agree, dieselpunk is great!

Dieselpunk is an aesthetic, not a visual style. Dark Gothic isn't exactly a style either, but, well, it does have a strong preference for use of shadows. Noir diselpunk does too.
