If you want to use Caroline's variants instead of the default "pigtails" one, you'll have to download the "Variants of Caroline.zip" file 23th of December bis I fixed some pixels in Vincent's sprites ! This only concerns like 5 people. 23th of December "Bad Boy" Sam (with the mullet) is now the default version of Sam. I made him part of the "Jodi, Vincent, Kent and Sam.zip". The "Regular" version has been re-named as the "Good boy" version and is available as a separate download. Why, hello there (again)!!!!! Your Sammy looks adorable, but he seems to lack the punk visual he has on the original portrait, which saddens me a little. One of the things that I think instantly identifies the character as Sam is his long, spiky, punk rock hair, that I've seen many editors disregard. But your design is very good, don't get me wrong, I would definitely use it! It's just a preference, and maybe something that my subconscious has already accepted as being a very defining characteristic of Sam's persona. I mean, you look at him - his hair and all - and you instantly know that he's a very "punk-like-flower-boy'esk" type of person (you know what I mean?) But,like I've said, I very much support your design and I will back you up!!! All the kudos are for you!!!!
You're totally right ! Actually I was heavily inspired by Kent's hairstyle. Just imagining Sam standing in front of a mirror trying to look like his father that's gone to war, his hero in a way, gives me the feels. But yeah. Sam is totally "punk-like-flower-boy'esk". Couldn't have described him better. It's just that his hair defies gravity itself and I'm trying to figure out how to make it seem more realistic. I'll start working on an alternate version of him, once I'm done with the family. Would you like it if I gave him some piercings instead ? Piercings are punk as f, right ?
Yeah, I totally see where you were coming from, Sam would probably like to have his hair stilled like Kent, it does make sense! Man, yeah, he totally looks like the type of person to add some jewellery on his face But maybe something subtle, because Jodi would probably have a stroke if she saw her baby boy's face pierced all over, ahahah (and let's not think about what his father would think, ahahah). How about an eyebrow piercing? A loop or maybe a curved barbell would look nice, don't you think?
Heh heh ! I was actually thinking about that eyebrow piercing too ! It'd look good on our boi ! That and one earring on his left ear ! But yeah. We gotta punk him up a little (without going overboard either)!
It's okay. I understand. It's true that I took some liberties with my interpretation of the characters. But just so you know : I'm more than willing to do variants of the portraits. So if you've got some suggestions, I'm all ears ! For example : I can give Sam and Penny their original hairstyles back if you want me to
