Hey! I've never done this before, but I decided to try recording a bit of how I work on sprite edits in this program I really recommend called aseprite. The video i a little chaotic and out of order, but I cover things like basic interface, palette management, handling frames and sheets, and some light coverage of general principles I follow when doing pixel art/animation. I did this with the hope that maybe it will be helpful to someone, but unfortunately it ended up being pretty long. In any case, here it is!
That is an extremely useful tutorial, thank you so much for posting it! I may have to look into getting Aseprite. Not that I don't love my Paint.net, but that ramp making and sheet handling is very tempting. I don't suppose there is any chance of you sharing a video to show your workflow of making a sprite completely from scratch? Or is that a trade secret?
this is a great tutorial, never heard of aseprite but it seems pretty powerful and you definitely know what you're doing
