I like it because you can equip any armour pieces you like and don't have to worry about looking like a blind person that ran though a armour store. most games have awesome-looking armour, but the stats/price of armour pieces stops the likely hood of a matching set.
You beat me to it. I was thinking about posting that back in April, but the devs on the IRC said "No references to other games."
I wanna catch 'em all ! Most likely just Red or Ash themed, though I do like the idea for second and third gen too.
Anything nature related. Maybe like an Adam set for guys and an Eve set for girls... although i'm not religious it still sounds like awesome vanity items to me.
I hope that there are lots of vanity armors and furniture and stuff like that. It would be nice to see referenced items like the plumbers clothes in terraria but I would aslo like to see made up space armors and stuff like that but they would either have to have defense or there would have to be a social slot because otherwise you couldn't wear it. I just wanted to put that out there so you could see it. I am not a spriter so i have no pictures of ideas but anyone else can go ahead and post pictures of cool vanity stuff.
I like these ideas, especially the Firefly/Serenity items. I also wouldn't mind a poncho like Clint Eastwood wore in 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly".
I know we aren't supposed to ask for anything from other games.... but the fishbowl from terraria. I loved playing on servers wearing that thing,
an upside down beard that reaches to your toes? or one of the proper ones that tries to get into the sky all the time?
A right proper beard of great girth and manliness that may or may not be a suitable habitat for small creatures
While a poptop would make a fine beard companion I would fear it stealing lunch from under my nose (and possibly my nose with it) But on the subject of vanity items, maybe a smaller non combat pet would be fun.
What about the Raiden's armor in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance? EDIT: I don't know why it shows multiple spoilers, but the last one has the pictures. Front: Back:
