    Continuations & Replying from the mod review:

    LUA knowledge doesn't have any place for this problem because this is not a problem that could be solved with the mod.
    it should be dealt with the starbound binary, let it pass appropriate shortcut key presses to the OS and interact with the IME native OS is providing with, or provide its own custom IME, which would be harder and more unlikely to happen.

    Long stort short, you did a great job, it's dev's turn to implement the missing parts.
