Bug/Issue Too many events at once

My wife and I experienced a strange bug today. We're playing multiplayer, it's summer 11, so luau day. I entered the town at 2pm and triggered the community center being built scene. My wife entered behind me and triggered Sam's skateboarding event. My character entered into the community center and instead of walking up to Mayor Lewis, he walked to the right of the screen to admire the fishtank and got stuck. When Morris came in, he grumbled, but never showed up. We had to hard restart.

I have both of our save files if that would help.

 

you just have to let the events play solo /then/ play together

 

We figured that one out the hard way. It was just a very unique situation.
