Starbound isn't launching (Final Release)

I really need assitance. Ever since the final version of Starbound was released recently, the game is unable to run. I click (play) on steam, and the game opens up. It only remains open for about a half of a second, then closes. I've made sure that there are no mods installed in the source files and still, the same problem. I would very much appreciate if someone could help me out.
