Bug/Issue Soft lock in community center menu

My inventory was full and there was an item on the ground. I opened the community center menu through the pause menu and selected an item from my inventory, which allowed the item on the ground to enter my inventory. With a full inventory and an item selected, I cannot leave the screen without resetting my game.

This is fixed by turning off controller-style menus, but I'm playing on console and good lord I don't want to do that to myself.
