I am wondering if with API editing or SMAPI, would it be able to change what sprite sheet would be used for a character depending on the season? If so, sprite sheets could be created for the various seasons depending on the NPC. Is this feasible, or would the user have to swap out the sprite sheets manually?
This would actually be possible I think. Storm has the ability to dynamically load resources, so if you can figure out a way to catch every time sprites are loaded you just get the current game season and would do something like append a seasonal folder to the sprite location and have sprites for the respective seasons in there and it should load. Hardest part would be figuring out what event to hook in order to load the sprites at the right time.
