Other Programs

Hey guys. I'd like to go into pixel art so I can develop my ideas better and would like to know what programs you guys use and possibly a link for them. Thanks a lot.

 

GraphicsGale is very useful in pix-art
I just started with Paint.net, but it seems quite nice too. And it's free!

 

Thanks. Im gonna try it out tomorrow and tell you how its working for me. Gotta get my sleep haha.

 

Also GIMP is a nice free program that i use.

I also use GIMP and find it works very well.

 

Even MS Paint is sufficient, as the interface is simplicity itself, and the tools available don't lend themselves to "cheating" (such as trying to antialias by blurring). It is good for cutting and pasting existing sprites, and the program is light enough that you can start working on a moment's whim.
Of course it doesn't seem super professional to use paint, but whatever works best.

 

I like graphics gale but paint.net wasn't too good for me. I'm gonna try gimp right now. Thanks alot guys.

 

How do I post something I made on the forum?

 

Directly (via "Upload a File" button) or use some free image hosting. I'm using Imgur

Heres the problem im having. I can't get it out of a .gal thingy

 

OK, is it animated?
If not, just use "Save as"-->"File format"-->"PNG"
Else... Well, you'll need a full version
