Possible New Race Themes!

So we've seen the Western-themed Novakids and made me think what other rad themes haven't been explored yet?

We have:
Humans - Modern
Avian - Tribal South American
Apex - Futuristic/Sci-fi
Florans - Tribal Savages
Hyotl - Samurai
Glitch - Medieval
Novakids - Western

My ideas:
Ninjas - if wall-sliding (ala Megaman) is possible, makes it slower or makes wall-sticking possible
Pirates - Chance to mug pixels from target on attack
Hippy (flower guns!) - Faster farming
World War II era (> World War I imo) (Squirrels/Rabbits/Ferrets on gritty soldier uniforms anyone?) - Faster tunneling (trenches)

Whatcha guys think?

Also, I think a World War era would definitely be neat. I'd like to see Fallout references in that.

I think there should be a snake-like race (Nagas). A boost from that could be better sneaking or faster movement speed.

 

Of COURSE pirates and ninjas. Of course. No surprise there. Not even a little.

Agree with ancient Greece, would also be satisfied with ancient Rome.

Another good option would be space/sci-fi Egypt. Been done a few times but still neat.



I could handle the pirates if they were space/sky pirates. Metroid or Skies of Arcadia style respectively.

 

I would seriously love to see a super early sci-fi race, based on Jules Verne's works and other such writers. Not quite steampunk, but lots of rivets and brass. I'd been hoping the Hylotls would be like that, back when they were just "an aquatic race". Aliens in diving suits would be so cool!

 

I see your what I asume to be Conker's Bad Fur Day refrence in the WWII theme

 

On that note, I think steampunk is a perfectly valid style in it's own right.

I'm a personal fan of cyberpunk but that might be a tad harder to do in a game like this unless they added a plethora of new and unnecessary features.

I want there to be an evil entity kind of race. Not monsters, but Demons or Daemons. These demons could wear Victorian outfits with Mardi Gras masks, representing their mysteriousness and utter lust for elegance and self fulfillment, to just enjoy and have fun.

 

when you said utter lust i imagined cow people. but i do believe we need some self absorbed Npcs, puts character into the universe.

I know it probably doesn't mean much, but I would love it if you guys would make a wolf race. I am a gold supporter, and I got the name Yuni Hermit put into the name generator. ^-^ She's a wolf, so that would be nifty. You probably won't even read my post though, Tiy. ^-^; But I thought I should say it! Wolf race, fox race, canine race.

 

If they added pirates...
There could be pirate ships...
Which could be sailed by the player...
Which could dock at pirate bays...
Which could lead to awesome pirate adventures...
Yeah, I think pirates are definitely a good idea.

+1 for Victorian steampunk. I think a World War 1/2 era style would be too similar to the Apex, as they already have a military theme. I do like the other suggestions though.
