Modding Discussion Portable version.

Any way to make a portable release of this. Really want to play it on computers where i can't install my own software/access steam.

 

There should be non-steam version. It maybe portable.

 

There are no portable versions, no immediate plans to make one, and that'd kinda be law-breaking to make a portable version of someone else's game to the exact. (See every Minecraft copy on the iTunes store that has to use different resources.)

The non-steam version is exactly what it says, a PC version of the game that doesn't require Steam.

 

why is this in the modding section and not in the GD thread

 

I'm not sure about the windows version, but I can run the linux version without steam and there is nothing dependent on a location or installation.
I only use steam to install/update.

 

Maybe create portable version of Steam with Starbound and login in Steam offline?
