Bug/Issue Paint tool issue: painting foreground simultaneously paints background

In previous versions, the paint tool had a short grace period after painting a foreground tile before it attempted to paint the background tile behind it. In either 1.3 or 1.3.1, this grace period was removed and the paint tool now paints both the foreground tile and background tile simultaneously. This makes it impossible to e.g. paint a platform and the wall behind it different colors, which is an unnecessary limit on creativity. Please return the grace period!

 

Oh wow and I wondered why I couldn't fix that up again. I used this on my ship and accidentally broke something today, tried to put it back, and now can't paint it again as it used to be. Nice.
