Looks really cool, keep it up! are the out posts only going to be on asteroid fields? From what I see in the picture.
Lookin realy nice,but honestly,isnt it missing some artilery? Outposts are often raided by Pirates and such and they dont realy put their trust on just anyone,so why not make the Outposts pack some heat? Maybe some Anti-Air weapons on the celiling,maybe just some turrets hiden in the ground that activate if you are hostile and come near(like Half-Life 2) or maybe even just one or two guys manning the sid turrets? Just some thoughts
Maybe outpost have a rare chance to have a "event" when pirates try to raid the outpost, You have a choice to raid with them or defend with the npc's at the outpost.
OR the Outpost could itself just be a trap made by Pirates or they might have just captured it themselves too! Destroyed Outposts could also have some Scavengers lying aroud,or some Defense Bots active by some sort of malfunction of the defense system.
The pirates could steal all your pixels if you were so happen to be captured. Also you could recruit some of the scavengers to be "body guards" basically like pets work but the aren't in a ball that is. You could also give them items to use, but when or if they die they just drop the items you gave them, In like a sack of loot.
Hmm,what about friendly Pirate Outposts?Like the Avian Airships,but much better,these guys would sell High-Class guns,Miniguns and Rocket Launchers and,maybe im streching it,but why not selling Mechs? It would make a lot of sense,seeing as they have plenty of space in the Outpost,maybe for the Pirates a Hangar would be in Order,but it would ,atleast for me,make ever so much sense to buy a Mech rather than to find one and where else to buy it than from Pirates who stole it?
