Modding Help Modifying Pre-existing Button Behavior

I wanted to try to change the behavior of the "Abandon" button in the Quest Journal menu. I was able to find the config file \interface\windowconfig\questlog.config and edit the button "btnAbandon" aesthetically but I've had no luck looking for the file that controls the behavior triggered by pressing it.

I'm very new to modding (but not programming) and I'm not sure what file type or what directory I should be looking for. Guidance of any kind would be very much appreciated!

 

More than likely it is something on their side that you cannot change

 

It's a real shame that they don't give modders more freedom :/

 

Yeah, but I do love the ease of modding for starbound. Anyone can add things its so simple
