Hello all. I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to create a mod that optimizes the game. I'm sure all Minecraft players are aware of the mod named 'Optifine'. For those who don't, basically what it does is allow the user to change a wide selection of graphical options that improve performance. If creating this mod is possible in Starbound, some options would be: disabling rain effects, disabling smooth lighting and disabling the moving background of a planet. Having the ability to disable these options would surely increase FPS for the players with less powerful PC's. Thank you.
Some of these are probably possible, but we can't actually edit the game code at the moment so all the checks and everything will probably still be done.
