Bug/Issue Memory leak on M2 mac

I was playing Starbound for a few hours, and got a warning from my Mac that the game was using 44.84GB of RAM, so I'm thinking that its likely a minor compatibility issue with the Apple silicon and Intel emulation causing some form of memory leak? Either way, the game was perfectly playable, but completely ate up all the virtual memory on my mac somehow.

A screenshot is provided. The game did not crash, but it also refused to close when I saved and exited.
