Harlaci Imperium Mass Relay Discovery: After a recent expedition, a group of scientists found a massive alien structure on the edge of the Delta system. It is theorized to be some sort of massive FTL drive, due to the large amount of element zero found in its core. Scientists are currently studying the structure but most likely it would take at least a year to obtain a concrete information about the device, and another year to deliver back to the capital. Planetary Defenses: Construction of anti-ship cannons on Genessia was approved, a total of 200 cannons are expected to be built after five years. Funding for the project came directly from the Praetor's own account, which surprised the majority of the citizens. Military Base Preparations: After the approval of the Imperial Praetor, the military is given the permission to build a large scale base on the satellite of Genessia. Construction have began immediately and is estimated to be finished after three years. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Harlaci Space Territory: Enderac System (Black dot) Enderac system is the acting home system of the Harlaci Imperium. The Enderac system has a total of 4 planets orbiting its star, two of them are gas giants, while the other two are habitable planets. The only starlane leading to the Axilla system is found here. Enderac System Backstory: After the discovery of the Enderac system, the government decided to initiate a massive operation to colonize the planet now known as Genessia. The operation took years but proved to be successful, millions of colonists have found a place to call home. The people in the Enderac system is not aware of the existence of their real home system, Axilla. Being "volunteered" as infants, the colonists grew up in the colony ships and lived there during their 10 - 20 years of travel. Knowledge about the Axilla system was kept from them by the as they grew up, and was never again mentioned for years to come. After the colonists have matured and were able to run the planet, the Praetor began eliminating everyone that knows the existence of Axilla. Now, only the Praetor, and a handful of his loyal subjects know that the Axilla system exist. Planets: (First being the nearest to the star.) Alpha-031 - Gas giant (No satellite) Genessia - Acting Capital (1 satellite) Halicarnassus - Colony (Food Production) (3 satellites, all used as Science Centers) Alpha-13 -Gas giant (2 satellites) Beta System (Blue Dot) An unexplored system, most of its planets are rich in minerals. Total Planets: 6 Delta System (Purple Dot) Most recently discovered system, its the first system to be found having a Mass Relay. Total Planets: 3 Axilla System (Black Circle) The Axilla system is found near the galactic core, and is home system to the Harlac and Hannost species. The system has six planets and an asteroid belt orbiting the star, Minorca. Axilla has some decent untapped pockets of element zero scattered around its space, but 80% of it is found inside the destructive plasma storms rampaging inside the system. The Harlaci government kept the existence of Axilla to preserve their home system, while they expand their territory. The Axilla system is currently ran by a temporary council formed by the Praetor, just before travelling with the colonists. The system functions as usual, but is forbidden to communicate or travel to the Enderac system. Planets: (First being the nearest to the star.) Honst - Gas giant (2 satellites) Mirka - Colony (Science Center) (3 satellites) Tyr'grande - Homeworld (4 satellites, 1 destroyed, 3 used as Military Bases) Venara - Colony (Food Production) (1 satellite) Aorca - Military Base (2 satellites) Fornost - Ice planet (No satellite) Argus belt - An asteroid belt found on the edge of the system. The belt is wide and has large asteroids circling the orbit, its almost impossible to traverse without a proper mapping data. Strange Alien Device A Exploratory team has uncovered a strange alien device,it is quite massive and seems to contain traces of element Eezo.Due to its nature the Aetherii Head of State has decided to keep it in its current location but has begun settling the near by planets and moons so scientists may study the device.So far it has been theorized that the device is infact a way of quickly getting around the Galaxy. Element Eezo New sources of Element Eezo,on asteroids and moons have been found.Using funding mines and refineries are set up to mine the newly discovered sources of Element Eezo. Military New ships are commissioned,but that is about it has the Aetherii dont really have a super-huge military.
Harlaci Imperium Economy: Due to the high demand of fuel, extraction permits on the gas giants were given to major fuel companies. Upon agreeing to the terms of the permit, fuel companies are expected to annually supply 40% of the fuel extracted to the government without payment. Food Shortage: The colony in Halicarnassus is experiencing a food shortage, caused by the still occurring drought in the planet. Although relief goods were already sent, the goods weren't enough to support all of the colonists. Reports have begun to show that a major portion of the colonists now rely on smugglers for food supplies. *Move Time Forward five Years* The Galvian Senate Exploration: We had ignored exploration of space until now. Five scout class ships have been deployed, and are schedueled to leave the solar system soon. A weird object has been giving off radio signals for five years outside the solar system, and we're attempting to find it. Research: We've begun work on a prototype for a universal translator (On the assumption that other life forms exist), based on the models already used to translate all languages native to the planet. Militaray: Funding for military has been mostly shifted to space ships. We're funding our first frigate class vessels and working on saving the funds for a large dreadnaught.
Harlaci Imperium Advanced FTL Drives: With the discovery of the alien FTL relays 4 years ago, the Harlaci Imperium now is now capable of travelling system to system without experiencing time dilation. Axilla System: Communication was established again with the Axilla system, therefore dissolving the temporary ruling council. Militarization of the satellites was imposed, along with the establishment of planetary trade routes in the system. Eezo mining operations was initiated, but with little produce due to the plasma storms destroying most of the mining ships. Military: After the dissolving of the Harlaci Auxiliary Army 3 years ago, the government decided to establish a professional military divided into multiple divisions dedicated to serve a specific purpose. Primus Legion: Main Ground Forces Praetorian Legion: Royal Army Harlacian Galactic Legion (HGL): Auxiliary Forces Harlacian Galactic Armada: Harlacian Imperial Fleet (HIF): Main Space Forces Harlacian Trade Federation Fleet (HTFF): Auxiliary Forces Silver Armada: Royal Fleet Colonization: Colonization of the Beta system began earlier this year, causing millions of civilians sent out of the capital. Only five of the planets were capable of housing the colonists, one being an ice planet. Overall the citizens were unhappy with the operation, but in the end they still complied. Space Exploration: Hannost scientists sent out multiple probes through the alien relay, hoping to find out where the massive device leads to.
The Galvian Senate Discovery: Upon closer look we found the object to be some sort of transport, and it wasn't long before some kind of device arrived through it. The idea of meeting aliens.. Exploration: A probe was sent to the device to be sent back to the other side, carrying a message and the prototype for the universal translator in hopes of it working. ((Up to you if it works or not.) Message: "Hello! We come in peace and hope for declarations of friendship. We are the Galvian Senate, from the planet Yukaton. If you receive this message and agree, please send a reply."
Harlaci Imperium Unexpected Results: Not long after the probes were sent through the device, an alien construct appeared coming from its opposite side. Encrypted signals from the probes sent through the device shows that the ones they sent were discovered by an alien species. Communication: The alien device was then taken by the scientists stationed in the Delta sector for examination. After sometime the device was studied and discovered that it contained some kind of alien communicator. Using the translator inside the probe, the scientists began decoding the message sent with it. Military: Upon receiving news about the alien contact, a small dispatch of frigates were sent to the delta sector, incase alien lifeforms with aggressive nature begins to move through the relay.
Harlaci Imperium Government: After receiving the contents of the probe, the Praetor himself traveled to the delta system, along with 20 cruiser escorts. Arriving at the science outpost he immediately spoke to the scientists concerning the contact with the aliens. Contact: The translator seemed more advanced compared to the translator they currently have, but the scientists could not manipulate the translator well enough, only decoding small parts of the message. "...Come..hope..friends..senate...planet...receive...please...reply.." A debate ensued after the Praetor was done reading the message, deciding if they should communicate back with the aliens. The debate took days but it was finally decided, they will send in a small fleet containing some diplomats and a group of scientists through the relay, accompanied by a decent amount of cruisers, incase its just a trap to lure them. Deployment: The Imperium sent in a transport vessel along with 10 cruisers through the relay, hoping to find out who are the ones that sent in the probe. Scouting Efforts Scientists have finally discovered out how to manupliate the aforementioned Mass Relays,and 2 probes have been sent through((One to both you guys))they carry Universal Translator technology that had been developed incase of alien contact.The message is as follows. "Hello!We are from the Aetherii Empire,consisting of the Aetherii Race,we hope to establish contact with your race!" Economy With the settlement of worlds in the Aetherii Home sector mining and industrial has increased,boosting the economy a bit.
Harlaci Imperium Contact: After sending out a small diplomatic party, a new probe jumped out of the relay. The scientists received the probe and began with the examinations. "Two alien races... I guess we really aren't alone in this universe." The Praetor comments as he receive the reports. Contact with the new alien species were put on hold, until the diplomatic party sent on the other empire comes back. The message was completely decoded, but the Imperium is still hesitant to contact another race, especially since they currently have their hands full with the Galvian Senate. Colonization: The colonization of the Beta system proved to be a success, and the system was renamed to Cadberos. Colonists began already with establishing trade routes across the system, with the intent of using most of the satellites in as trade hubs.
Military and Discovery: Upon the arrival of several ships capable of combat, the Galvian Senate worried they may have found some kind of war-filled species. However the general consensus was to be peaceful. Fifteen frigate class ships( ) were sent, along with a ship similar in design, but with far less cannons. Two diplomats were on board.
Harlaci Imperium Arrival: Upon arriving on the other side of the relay, the cruisers separated from the transport vessel containing the diplomats, scientists and a group of HP operatives. The transport vessel approached the Galvian Senate fleet slowly, as the cruisers maintained their distance. The vessel then uses the translator that came with the probe earlier, to contact the ships on the other side. "Greetings...pleasure...species...meet...agreement...people....come...onboard..personally.." The vessel attempts to contact the ships even though they haven't mastered the use of the translator yet. Harlaci Peacekeepers - A military division assigned as protectors of diplomats and scientists. Science: With the discovery of the translator device of the Aetherii Empire, scientists theorize that it might improve the diplomatic mission sent to the Galvian Senate. A small scouting ship containing the device was then sent to the Galvian Senate sector.
Harlaci Imperium Contact: Arriving at the Galvian Senate sector, the scouting ship immediately transferred the Aetherii translator to the diplomat's vessel. The diplomats calibrated the device along with the previous translator for a while before finally using it to contact the ships on the other side. "Greetings, we are the representatives of the Harlaci Imperium, we must apologize for the communication problem, the interface and overall structure of your translator was far too advanced for our scientists." A brief silence occurred before the diplomats spoke again. "We are grateful for the technology you have given us, and we would be honored to have a diplomatic connection with your species." ((would've posted this after zamorak's reply, but I guess I'll just post this anyways, just to save some time for other stuff.))

Contact Both diplomats that were sent in the party received the message, and it was a bit difficult as it did not translate accents. However they understood it in not too much time. "Ah yes hello. We uhm, come in peace. Sorry for the guns, military doesn't like us coming out here on our own."
Harlaci Imperium Contact: "Ah, I guess you can say the same thing for us, they were afraid it might be a trap since we have never faced any spacefaring species until now." The diplomats reply, before cutting off for a few seconds, adjusting the signal. "If its alright with your species, we would like to offer an exchange of biological data. Such information offers both of us greater knowledge, plus it would most likely bring our species closer to a much more advanced state, like trading perhaps." Military: The 11th Fleet of the HIF was assigned to the Delta system, in compliance to the Harlaci safety protocols.
Contact "Very well. We're transmitting our anatomy and medical data, we hope you find it educational." Data The data shows the anatomy of the Galvian race. They have an elongated head with an extremely large brain, but also are naturally born with trace amounts of a weird kind of radiation. It also contains medical data about something called "Regeneration", where an explosion of radiation can quickly fix every cell in the body, but also shortens their life-spans. There's also advanced procedures for using plasma arcs to re-attach nearly dead limbs.
Harlaci Imperium Contact: "We are grateful you have agreed to this, we are sending ours now, we hope you find ours as educational as yours." Data: Upon opening the data, it would show two files, one for the Harlacs, and one for the Hannost. Harlacs: The data shows a full body scan of the Harlacs, pale white skin, thick blue blood, skeletal appendages on the body, and glowing blue eyes. Its shown that they have a natural life span of 200 years, but are very sensitive against radiation, making them wear suits most of the time. Hannost: They are sentient aquatic beings, intellectual and are highly adaptable to the environment. They have a mossy green skin tone complimenting their carapace like skin. There's little information given about the species, but a huge list about the composition of their body is attached to the file. Upon sending the file, the Harlaci transmits a message. "This action brought our species closer together, it is a huge step for something much greater, for now we must depart and report to our superiors. We hope to interact with your species again, soon." The ship transmits a farewell signal before turning back to the relay, preparing to depart the system.
Military Upon the Harlaci's exit, military action was immediately taken. Orders for several turret like devices were sent in, as well as patrols stationed around the relay at all times. Military funding shifts again. Infantry and land vehicles - 5% Non-space capable air vehicles - 5% Space capable military units - 90% Economy Economy funding shifts, with most merchants expecting trade with the new alien species. Exploration In the following years, several scouting parties are to be sent through the relays. ((Duck, you might as well post. Time is still passing, we are just not choosing to reply immediately.
