  1. The Enlightened Grue

wondering why there weren't any pics of the aquatics and robots when you went over the last two races, even though we have pics of them now.

  2. Sgt. Sprocket

    Sgt. Sprocket Parsec Taste Tester

  9. Captain Olimar

    Captain Olimar Void-Bound Voyager

Aw man, not a food meter!

Oh well, it could turn it better then it sounds.

  10. Adam #

    Adam # Big Damn Hero

The Following has been stated as NOT being in the game -
    • Food Meter
There is no food meter, just like there is no Half-life 3

  11. Necrius

    Necrius Scruffy Nerf-Herder

There will be both eventually. But food (and everything else about survival) meter gonna be optional, I think.

i very much hope you're right. sometimes im ok with a food meter, and sometimes im not, but if they actually add the choice for it than they are just officially being overachievers :p which im ok with.

  13. ThatMrT

    ThatMrT Phantasmal Quasar

This is the only thing which im not so happy about...

This would unfortunately ruin the whole point of races in my opinion :(

  14. From what I know, races were originally just visual so any race-related aspects are a plus for me.

  15. I'm not sure what to think of the race armors. On the one hand, they all sound really cool, but the fact that there are advantages to each race (at least at the start of the game) is going to make deciding on one much harder at the beginning.

  16. All of them seem equally fun, personally would just go with the one that looks best and run with that?

  17. 15:40:19] <@Tiy> you can put armor in a "visual only" slot
[15:40:23] <@Tiy> that overwrites the other armor youre wearing

    Vanity Slots!

  18. Stargazer

    Stargazer Existential Complex

They said that a very very very long time ago, but I don't think anyone noticed. It's stated in this video (which was made on March 14th) at 2:35.

  19. [15:43:24] <@Tiy> there is a hunger meter
    [15:43:24] <@Tiy> but
[15:43:29] <@Tiy> you can choose to play without it if you want
[15:43:34] <@Tiy> and if you do use it, it takes a full 2 hours to deplete

    Edit:

[15:46:06] <@Tiy> there are planets without oxygen yes
[15:46:17] <@Tiy> youll need special gear for them

Here's my log of the chat from today, I've left out most of the idle chatter.

    Just from a quick reread:
    • Most likely won't be able to meet a release this year, too much to do to make it perfect.
    • Possibly still thinking of a "beta" which includes a finished sandbox but no main story.
    • Nothing is set in stone.
    • 10 tiers of armor for each race, making 60 sets of armor, not including also all the unique stuff, drop only stuff, shop stuff, etc.
    • Won't be able to craft other race's armor until late in gameplay, would have to trade or find it.
    • Robot in tier 1 avian armor: http://i.imgur.com/KVyhu.png
    • Nothing is set in stone, still tweaking the systems.
    • There are "visual only" slots to wear armor over your functional armor, just for style.
    • Some survival mechanics talked about are hunger which takes two hours to deplete, and temperature; reminder that these are able to be turned off.
    • Some planets might have no oxygen, need special gear.
    • Planets at this point in development are limited to one biome with sub biomes, to maintain a consistent theme.
