Objection! I think us Humans have damn well proven ourselves NOT Intelligent... Pollution, War, Resource Waste, those who plot & scheme the ruin of HUGE amounts of other people to benefit only their own selves, etc...

For the Topic: I think a Plant Playable Race would rock! Don't get to play that kinda race in just any game. Whether or not I would play the Race with a Character... undecided, I would need more info on them.

For the record, I don't wonder why a Plant Person would be angry at Humans & wanna take an Axe to them... How would we be able to explain to them that without Plant-fueled Fires, Ice & Cold would kick our asses & successfully completely destroy us? (Especially in the Winter.) They're the ones on the wrong end of the treatment... & it is indeed likely to suck. This could make a Human - Plant Rivalry a viable addition to the fun of the game.

There's a race of plant people in Guild Wars 2 that look familiar, with the hair and all that.

Race rivalries would be interesting, not sure how they would handle that. I hope the races have separate traits (that can be gained by other races later in game, of course).

Race Rivalry could mean instant hostility, denial of trade, attacks by "rogue elements", various related quests etc. Or any possible combination.

 

Yeah that totally means that plants are smarter than humans.

 

Tiy said we would raid dungeons and villages... This leads me to believe that each race may fight each other ingame in some way. Or maybe you can raid other players villages and slaughter their NPC if it's a big server or something.
