You had me really worried about a lot of new bugs with EVERYTHING CHANGED WHEN THE TILE RENDERING SYSTEM ATTACKED but now I realize you were just making a playful title
Only the Programmer, master of all programming languages could fix it. But when the game needed her most, she vanished.
Cool! This could be a serious help to those with weaker processors (such as myself), as we get a KILLER SLOWDOWN whenever we go into big structures such as Bunkers and Jump Mazes. Btw, is there any chance you guys can fix the crash with the FTL travel on the nightlies? It's probably the only major bug I'm seeing in the nightly builds so far.
For my clunker of a computer, performance is the single biggest concern I have. So keep up the great work!
Even for people with powerfull CPU's this is good news, really love to see performance improves Keep up the good work guys
This is gonna sound impatient and all, but... I really hope you guys push this out to all the versions ASAP. Both to keep my computer from cooking itself trying to run the game, and also just to make things more stable in general. Also it'd shut up some of the people complaining about a lack of updates... but no, mostly it's a selfish desire to not have my computer burn up playing the game.
Awesome! Awesome!! Awesome!!! I don't have the greatest of computers, so the effort to optimize the performance of this awesome game is GREATLY appreciated!
Unified code and refinement. And here I thought such feats were only reserved for those silly console things. (before anyone takes offense, I am being 100% factitious)
That's kind of a remarkable improvement on it's own, isn't it? 30%? And it's going to be better when finished? Killer. I wasn't really having too much lag issues as is but sounds like it'll run like ice on glass when it's finished. Awesome job, keep at it.
Interesting. I wonder if this means my Computer/Display Tile mod would actually be feasible after this rewrite. Before I could only run about 32x16 addressable pixels or about 40 tiles before it would really start crashing the FPS. http://community.playstarbound.com/...-in-pixel-rendering-via-animationparts.66060/
So funny, I actually had JUST finished reading an Avatar: The Last Airbender comic online (It was some cool stuff, picking up where the original anime left off), and I came to check on updates, and saw this. Really odd coincidence. On the actual topic; optimization will be super awesome!
