is the pine tree biome a stargate reference?

    there are so many pine tree planets in starbound, and in stargate SG-1 and stargate atlantis most of the planets they go to have a pine tree forest, so I have been wondering is the excess of pine tree planets a reference to stargate?

    Unlikely. big pine trees are basically the poster child for forests.

    Might just be where the set was located as well. Every Ren Faire I end up going to is inevitably located in a pine flatwood. Granted its one of the more common ecosystems in this area, but still.
