Modding Help Is it possible to add particle effects to hats

Let's get this out of the way first. I'm very new to modding, Starbound is the first game that I've attempted to mod myself.

Anyways is it possible to add particle effects to other cosmetics like the Hot Top Hat or the Pipe Hat? I don't exactly like the way these hats look but I like their effects. I made a custom hat and I really want to make look it unique.

 

Yes. It is possible. There are hats within the game that already have particle effects on them.
