Its asexual, thus they dont need two florans to mate. Only one, and they dont do though any sexual organs.
The most common method of asexual reproduction is that when a part of the creature is broken, that part will form a new living creature, while that the procreator regenerates that part.

A lot of things are being assumed of florans here in regard to what their reproduction cycles would be like.

    First off, Florans as plants:
While they're obviously derived from plants, in order for them to function, (i.e. move around, think, eat) they would have to have adapted a lot of animal-like characteristics. They would have had to remove, or at least severely soften their plant walls in order to bend and flex. They would have had to develop a muscular system of some sort to move at will, at least to move quickly, and they would have had to develop an endothermic system in order to produce the energy levels required for sentient thought. These things aren't impossible, but the result would be something MUCH different from what we would call a plant, and hence result in a different reproduction/gestation cycle. Also, plant reproduction is based on a very basic fact of plant life: they can't move out of the way of things. The reason that plants (and non-mobile animals) reproduce in the ways they do is that nearly 100% of them will die very quickly. Typically eaten by something else. The usual strategy against this is simple mass production. Try counting the seeds on a dandelion sometime. The idea is: produce as many as possible so that a few might survive to continue the genetic line. If these strategies were applied to a mobile creature, one that CAN flee from danger, the result would be an exploding population that would quickly eat itself to extinction. In order to survive, the florans would have had to adapt a slower reproduction cycle. Flowers and pollen could still be involved, but it wouldn't look like what we think of as plants.

    Second, Florans as parents:
The assumption here is that they reproduce like we, and most of the animals we're closest to do. There ARE other strategies however. They could be hive-like for instance. All sprouting from "queens." Whether this "queen" is an intelligent being (like the Pale Tree that mothers the Sylvari in Guild Wars 2) or a non intelligent plant that spawns the florans like other trees spawn fruit, and requires protection by it's tribe of children, is up to the imagination. There are other options too. Maybe the florans have no idea who their parents are. Perhaps the florans become fertile during a specific time, and perform a sacred dance together in the village square. The males release pollen into the air, and it's just a genetic free-for-all! Maybe afterwards the females give live birth and they all know their mothers, or perhaps they lay "seeds" and either out of species disinterest, or cultural norms, no one keeps track of which seeds came from whom, and they're all planted and raised as a community. There are millions of possible reproduction methods, many we probably have never even seen on Earth. Even granting a male/female gender split (which the character creator seems to endorse) there's still a lot of possibilities that don't include a mommy and a daddy loving each other very much.

My point is, LOTS of possibilities. That said, a species who mates to the 80s classic song "Da Butt" is nothing but hilarious!

Yeah I feel like perhaps the "Rub their butts" option is too silly for the immature internet haha. I imagine most people picked it not because they thought it was the best idea but because it sounded the most interesting and silly (No offense). Personally I would have had their heads rub together since most of their heads have flowers. Though I voted for male/female reproduction because the males genitalia while looking normal and like a humans would act as the Stamen and the females would act as the Stigma ;)

I look at them, they get pregnant.

    Or maybe bees pollinate them?

    I don't know really.

It wouldn't work out. because the Florans are a single gender, they all have one Steman and one stigma. Only reason theres another gender is for a customization option. It really makes no difference.
They can pollinate themselves, They are able to move.

    I suggest spores.

Oh yeah. Haha. Forgot. Silly me. Love your name by the way. But in the line of thinking Stamen and Stigma it could still work since they are a singular gender, some flowers (at least i believe) have both male and female reproductive parts so the Florans could have both and choose either to pollinate themselves or to pollinate with another. (I haven't really read the Floran lore page since I don't plan on playing them at least at first, though I should read it due to my vehement eagerness for this game :ninja: )

THIS IS THE SILLIEST THREAD EVER
My 2 cents : The Florians co-evolved with a species of insect that transports the pollen from one to the other.
This went on for thousands of years and still goes on today except now, in a few rogue groups, individuals pollinate based upon desired traits.
These rogue groups are both feared and hated by the larger part of Florian culture and have been denounced by Florian religious leaders.
