how should Florans mate?

heres a strange idea how about florans can mate/produce offspring in almost anyway possible

 

If they had the flowers on their rears, I'd agree. Still amazed this was ever brought up, but I am fascinated people care. It's like watching a trainwreck in slow motion.

I think the confusion is the use of the term "gender" and "sex". Sex is biological, gender is more of a mentally affiliated role. Either way, their body shape is an evolved form of mimicry that might fail to reflect on whether it acts more masculine or feminine anyway.

That'd be the comical route and might as well be true given the suggestions.

I accidentally clicked "it just happens," but then thinking about it... you could see two of them, and as soon as you turn your back to them... you turn around again and BAM! There are now six of them. Where did the other four come from? It just happens...

Okay then:

 

They don't have any privates. They're plants. They have plant reproductive parts. There are no "Male" and "Female", just ones that look and/or act masculine or feminine.

 

It's been stated that they lack traditional humanoid reproductive equipment, so no.

they should mate like normal Flowering plants.

 

well all Plants have both male and female parts and can act as both.

most of the first 6 races are pretty much stable in the lore department their wont be many changes in what is revealed out of the first 6 races. Also the game is in closed beta not alpha

 

No, not really. They've got the lore for the races pretty much down. Florans are unisex, like plants. Because they're, y'know, sentient, ambulatory plants.

 

Yeah, I suppose you may be right on that.

 

I'm pretty sure the Dev asked this in good humor because there's NO way they'd go into any detail explaining how this works. At best it'd be a comedic reference.
