Honest question about this community

Is there some kind of unwritten rule here where if someone says they're trying to recycle code or improve on something, that they are to be ignored? No offense to anyone, but I am starting to see that pattern forming. I just spent all night trying to make my arm cannon render over top of my character's arm, and the one person who tried to help seemed to run for the hills once I mentioned I was using the Adaptable Crossbow as a base. I am running out of energy.
