Well. Some people see certain pronz as art, like, you know how Venus was always depicted nude to emphasize her natural beauty? Same thing, about liberty and all.
At least ideally that's the case.

 

To your first few points: I suggest having a few threads, not a lot, but a few, as is probably the general consensus. However, while we set up rules and stuff, there are going to be polls on which rule is fair, etc.
I'm mostly saying this because I don't want this to happen

No one, not Relinies, not myself, not Wox, not anyone owns this forum, and decides totally which rules get put in. That is no one's privilege

As to NSFW, I'm going to say what I said to Tach:

Allow me to elaborate
1.) Let's say J-block posts something NSFW, and gets banned. He's going to come back, and say "I'm sorry, I won't do it again. Unban me, please." And we, or at least, I will unban him, and he might do it again. The threat of banning just doesn't hold the same weight because we are all very fond of each other
2.) It's the same idea as hitting your pillow rather than someone else. If they can post NSFW, it gives them less reason to come post it in the regular threads
3.) It's easily hidden. This addresses the problem with Limit Break and strangers joining the forum. We can make the default setting that those are hidden, and people have to ask to get in
4.) Pretty much self-explanatory here, although it gives me an opportunity to further along the "no one person has all the power." I think we should vote on (almost) every rule, save for the ones that are self-explanatory.

I have no idea what to do about the moderation. People have volunteered to moderate, which is a solution, although some of these people you don't WANT to give moderator powers. We could give them abilities only in those sections of the forum, which is a solution, I think
And if we absolutely need the moderation, I'm willing to do it

The opposite is also true. Like, why should we cater to the minority that see porn/nsfw stuff as art?
Those who see nsfw stuff as it is, let them go to some dedicated site.

 

irrelevant how people see it,
any porn could be considered art,
simply doe to the fact that stuff like filmography and photography are art forms,
as is animating, photo manipulation, voice acting,
its all art.
and just because its porn doesnt mean its not art, and just because you think some artwork is trash, doesn't mean that its not artwork
also actual porn isnt allowed on deviant art for what i remember,

 

Honestly, I think that if 1.) is the case, we're gonna need to remove you from the admins. We can set short-ish penalties, but we need to have firm rules and follow through with them or they serve no purpose. With the serious problems that can come from posting NSFW stuff (threat of losing your job or being expelled from school isn't exactly light), we have to be firm about this and can not let people off with an "oopsies, I didn't mean to almost get you in huge trouble!"

 

Is it really going out of your way to let conversation about an art form occur. And again, you're definitely welcome to have literally nothing to do with anything nsfw if you don't want to.

I agree with Wox on this point, that the rules should be firm about nsfw where it shouldn't be, because that's really unokay and shouldn't happen.

 

Serious question and no offense, are you going to be anything other than lenient though?

 

This is the less important thing, but I'd be okay with only a few threads so long as it is ONLY a few

1. We've dissuaded people from bad posts entirely with words, before. Nightclaw, as an example. You know he's improved. It does work. We just need the help of actual moderation powers, because we can't stop a mass of distasteful people entering our thread. We can't just say "No, get out, you're being terrible" to the people who we aren't so fond of, who are our original reason for doing this, and our original reason for ever considering moving to another forum, which we have done many times before.
2. It's most preferable to simply not allow it in the threads, and instead let people put it in PMs. There are only advantages to that. Only. At least, that I can see.
3. Look at my secondary point about that. That'd be a pain in the neck.
4. Majority can be persuaded, Pax. That's what I'm trying to do, because from what I can see, it's for the best.

But then guess what? I'm an admin of the Roleplaying section. Its my job to oversee that place, and not many others will look at it often, because they'll know i have it in hand.

But thanks to the nsfw section, I can't go there when I'm in school, or while I'm having soccer practice, or I'm at a tournament, which means majority of my day has access to it removed. Bravo. If this place was larger, I would had more mods. Its not. So I'm alone, and I have plenty of time to moderate those boards. Plenty of people won't if the nsfw section is added

 

About the NSFW stuff, I feel like it should be kept through Steam or whatever. I mean, if it's really SO URGENT that other people see this particular porn image you found the other day, I don't see a reason you couldn't just send it to them over Steam.

 

To quote a leader when I asked if I could become a leader in my youth group: "I think it'd be a good idea. Talk to [main leader], because we need people like me, who've had rough lives and aren't afraid to dish out punishment, and we need people like you, who are compassionate and kind"
I realize this isn't a youth group, but we need a voice of "Guys, maybe that's a little too harsh." Again, I will refer to all of your judgement, because I don't own that forum
