Bug/Issue Game starts in windowed borderless mode, game crashes when changed to fullscreen.

Hi all, I have been playing the game for some time however recently (around the past month or so, I'm not quite sure as I took a break from playing the game) the game has started launching in windowed border less mode. When it does this it is stuck over to the left side of the screen. If I change it to windowed the screen stays stuck in the left side and cannot be enlarged. The window itself can be enlarged but the game display cannot. I tried to get the game into full screen to see if I could change the game resolution from inside of the game but the moment I do so my computer flicks between the desktop and a black screen before the program crashes.

Does anyone know a fix for this? I've tried everything I can think of. Any help would be massively appreciated.
