A fenerox guy/gal doing his daily stuff, hunting with its bow and spear, gathering, sleeping. Not much in the daily prospects but its a peaceful life until one day a ship of some random race (any existing playable race chosen at random) crash-lands nearby. Our little fenerox hero makes its way to the crash site and into the ship where it finds the body of its pilot, its manipulator and its damaged SAL that needs to be restarted. With the help of SAL the fenerox gets its first quests to repair and restore the ship to working order and manages to get the ship off the ground to orbit the planet where the normal quest to repair ship further and find the "unknown power source" begins. From this point on our little hero has access to the racial armor / quipment of the ship that crashed by default (Or if the devs are up to it to build its own fenerox exclusive armor and equipment and maybe even personalize the wrecked ship as to a fenerox only one) Also fenerox could get more dialogs and quests of their own, and who knows? maybe even crew members. The choices are endless.
Have you tried making a new race to the extent they have with the others? It's really tedious and difficult and all in all not really worth it... You can possibly help out the mod though. That may be promising.
