Because you have the option to create wells and the ponds on the farm can really muss up your design scheme, I thought it might be kind of cool if you could pay Robin ( or someone else, or maybe even a Junimo Upgrade ) to fill in the ponds with dirt. Doing so would free up more land for farming, and allow you to make your farm more aesthetically pleasing, besides allowing us to not have to worry so much about where everything is going to fall and if it is going to fall perfectly when we are doing our farm designs. If Robin has the option of doing that, then we could just pay with a metric ton of stone and plant fiber ( and the usual cash cost, of course ).
I Would love an option to fill up the ponds. Perhaps even and option build them, for those who just find the location an inconvenience of the original ponds.
Maybe remove the edge-iy part of them, instead, let them become a perfectly square area. Also Water crops can make the ponds useful (or raising lobster/crayfish/frogs)
