RELEASED Extended Ship Mod

What this mod does is allows you to have an extra floor on your ship or depending on download allow you to be able to have a cargo bay.

Make sure to read the installation on how to install this mod.

I reccomend downloading All Ships as this allows for all ships to have an extra level and it also means if friends have a different ship and use the same mod it will still look okay!

1. Download what ship you want. If you are on multiplayer I suggest going for all ships.
2. Extract the files of the zip you downloaded too "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\assets\ships"
It may be somewhere different for you however it will always be inside the \assets\ships folder.
3. Once you've extracted you can play all okay, enjoy!

Please ask if you want to rehost/reuse these assets

Extend the nose out a bit and the Apex one would almost look like the yacht from SWG.

Can't wait for the Floran version w/ cargo bay. As somebody who prefers to live on their ship it's nice to have more room to fit various things.

 

They don't line up properly, I'm walking under the ship.

 

Since this is the first mod I've used, did I do it wrong, or is the blocks file missing(cause I saw it in the others ships)?

 

Sorry about that. It should be fine now! Try redownloading it.

If your using your old character it will do that.
"Also all original characters won't be able to use these ships for some reason so bare with me as I try to fix and figure that out (It's mostly because your character has the ship set to you but I'll figure out how to change or empty that later)"

Sweet, works. Also, if you're willing to lose literally everything on your ship, you can delete your character's .shipworld file before starting the game, and you'll start with a new, modified ship.

 

I just threw everything down in some chests on my Homeworld and BOOM perfect. Works beautifully.

You don't get kicked or anything but it just looks weird.

 

Can you make a cargo ship version of the avian ship? I don't want to move away from my racial preference.

 

What's the timetable look like for a Human Cargo Ship model?

I really like these. Just enough extra space, without completely overhauling the uniqueness of each races ship.

Are you planning to make human and "fish people" variants? Also are you planning on expanding more cargo ships?

And good luck with making it usable on preexisting characters.

 

good job ... i suggested the devs include a feature to eventually upgrade ships to make them larger and well i got impatient obviously like you did and my floran ship mod looks very similar to this , mines just more rectangular lol ..

 

I plan on doing all the ships. I have many projects with Starbound so they won't come immediately.
And thankyou, this mod should work after the update so people can just start new characters with this mod anyway.

I've done a small addon to my ship myself and decided to eventually turn it into a public mod. But here you are with a great version of it already!
I will encourage friends to play with your mod so we would all see the same ships now .
