'Not exactly. In case you hadn't noticed, the entire fort was destroyed.' He seems very irritated, to say the least.

After you finish cleaning it, you notice the bedsheets seem singed.

he disregards(hue) this development, and begins to cut the sheet into bandage like strips, taking off all bandages except those on his shoulders and changing them

 

The sheet is a bit thin, but seems to do the job. It's a bit difficult to change your bandages with one hand, but you manage.

he shifts the small cabinet of drawers in front of the door, not enough to stop the opening, but enough to make a large amount of noise.
he crawls under the bed and goes to sleep

 

"Don't be so quick to rule out the possibility. What do you need me for?"

Your sleep is relatively uneventful, just a pervading sense of weariness.

'Right now, recover. We're still working out who attacked us, though we're pretty sure it was the government. How they were able to pull their heads out of their assessment and notice us we don't know, but we'll find a way to get back at them. Right now we hold the advantage, in that they think we're dead.'

 

"But how long can we keep under here to keep them fooled? They have access to more and better resources. By the time we recover back to zero, they'd be more than powerful enough to wipe us out for good, yet we can't remain down here forever..."

 

'They already are powerful enough. The thing is, they've underestimated us. They're too worried about their own lives to give a shit about the slums, that's how we were able to get this strong. These tunnels stretch around the planet, some older than when it was colonized. Within it, are some strange artifacts, which I'm sure you've come across already. Our plan right now is to first get back our footing, then spread. Like a disease, take them down from beneath. They are powerful, but they aren't all seeing.'

"As I said... You can never be too careful. They've underestimated you once, but not all governments are as gullible as some may think... And you said yourself that you aren't sure of who actually sent the attack. Uncertainties have been the downfall of many. Until we can be absolutely certain, we should spread our focus to other potential threats as well as the gov."

 

It's quite. Not much seems to be going on in your area, seems people have cleared out.

'Exactly, that's why for now we're laying low, reconning to find out who exactly did this to us.'

he crawls out from under the bed and shoves the drawer out of the way, opening the door

 

"Good. In the meantime, there are things off I must attend to once we are in the clear. Where can I get started with helping you forwards.

 

It's still outside. Nothing living, only rubble.

'Go to the medbay and get those wounds checked out, you aren't useful to us dead. Rest, and come back, we have plenty of work to go around.' He goes back to looking at the map, seems the conversation is over.

 

He nods his thanks and heads back to the medbay tent.

 

It seems pretty busy, many were injured in the blast.
