IDEA LIST for ConcernedApe. I am hoping ConcernedApe will at least read this post. Implemented game changes would be SWEET! but i can deal with a read. :Some tough love: I love Stardew, but that does not mean it is without flaws. It has many. My goal with this post is to give ConcernedApe a boatload of ideas to pull inspiration from. More town recognition: The towns people need more dialogue acknowledging your achievements for sure. For example if X animals have max hearts, maybe have someone comment on it, like saying, You are wonderful with animals, or your milk and cheese are top notch, i love them! Town dialogue really needs a boost here and there to feel more like a conversation also. One of many ways to do that would be to have some dialogue change based off who you pursue for marriage. Because each love interest has their own unique personalities it means it is pretty safe to say that those pursuing a specific personality are of like mind. This gives a Dev a great foundation for writing because you have some idea as to what your player is like. So town dialogue can easily adjust based on who you seek to marry or have married. And because you have the core values of the player (do to their marriage choice) in town conversations could vary dramatically. Even the conversations between your wife would improve. TOWN Events. not to be confused with character events. Town events are a hub of information which Devs can capitalize on, with the right kind of games, and dialogue options. They also give player that much needed break from farming to keep things feeling fresh, so they should be interactive and fun or at least have interesting story. IDEAS FOR TOWN EVENTS. some good some bad. ideas spark ideas. Card game event / card collecting (like magic or pokemon). at your local shop. Casino gambling Potato sack race Rc car racing Deep sea fishing (for a contest, or just pay the old sea Capn to take you out) Dumpster dive with the Hobo? lol Beach swimming contest Volley ball contest Food fight (yeah i know) Cooking contest broadcast on live tv (maybe it even makes you famous 0.o) Form a band with those music brats (or brat) and play a gig for the town, or monthly at the bar! for some Kiash!$$$. A proper dance party Fire works (cant beat the classics) and the jelly fish event combined would give you time to weed out the unwanted females through heart felt / meaningful discussion. Hockey (there is ICE) A dress up Ball (dance) event with great romantic interactions in mind. A drinking contest at the bar (fits whats her faces storyline pretty good) Local plays, drama (the theater) maybe even a singing mini game like Perappa The Rapper (kick punch block!) for a performance rating. Strong man competition with of course, log cutting, car pulling, and... tree scaling? Triathlon event (all kinds of potential for mini games here) Better arcade lol Maybe a Arcade event (street fighter II pleeeease lol) An actual wedding event - the whole town is invited! or not. Wizard needs the help of the town in an alternate dimension. Town stuck reliving the same day and you must solve the mystery. Cave in at the mine! Miners are trapped, the whole town needs to help with this awful event. Shark attack - who got bit and will he / she recover? we are holding an event at the plaza to raise funds. plenty of gossip at this pity party. Town needs to help wizard fight off a monster invasion. Hang out at the town beach BBQ and dive for abalone, swoon your love interest- go to jail for not having your abalone license. Some sort of giant food challenge at the bar, will your stam be enough? Some form of golf - maybe with a shovel. Art expo -it fits whats her faces story line. Hog racing Brewery contest- have the best brew around, and be known for it. no easy feat though. Flea market. find an item or two for that nutty librarian needs, mixed with meaningful interaction. Farmers market - be known for the best veggies in town. No herbicide here. Make your own fireworks and be part of the launch crew Potluck option: Throw something poisonous in the pot at the giant potluck event and watch the night unfold. who will you choose to help, if anyone. My god, whats that smell! Skate / bmx event - Vert ramps maybe. Do tricks. impress the crowed Proper new years event -plenty of untapped romance potential Your BIRTHDAY! -rent out the plaza and get funky. the more you've done for the town the better the party. Table top games event at the community center would be pretty epic. WindSailing race at the desert! Truffle gathering with that special someone- show up- have meaningful town interactions, convince the doomed to be to go on the romantic truffle hunt. Community Construction - the town gathers to build a new building together- maybe a house for a new resident? impress the ladies with your foodie skills on lunch break by providing said lunch. the actual building could be a mini game or just a cut-scene prior to more meaningful interactions. Little breaks from farming are nice. Community picnick in the mountains - get to know people- more meaningful interaction, maybe have a downhill cardboard box race on the steep grassy hill while up there. Multi-layered Events. The event changes based on who you speak to, and how much they like you. Maybe leave for a romantic moonlight walk- or to a basement to play videogames. or it starts as a party at the plaza and ends at the pubb. or plaza and some convincing ends at the beach, having awkward but witty interactions. Rc boat racing at beach. Emergency city meeting- someone is robbing houses, question everyone. witty meaningful interaction, solve a mystery. Kite festival - relax and take in the wonderful breeze. can your kite hold up against the local pros? Book club event / famous author on tour. interactions and books allow topics to vary. Famous band performers at the plaza. Circus shows up in town. A bunch of people get stranded at sea- who gets eaten first! lol The town is hired to hunt down a dangerous local creature that has taken a child captive. Pie eating contest. THE WIZARD. huge opportunity to add an optional story arch here. Wonderful backstory and just more about the wizard in general. At max hearts some friendship events for sure. The apprentice story arch. Maybe once you get max hearts (become friends, or maybe friends and a couple years later) the wizard comes to you for help do to a premonition he had of some ancient evil plaguing the lands in the not so distant future. He asks that you join forces, but first must be taught the arts of magic as an apprentice. you could do the story or quest line in some other dimension (since th wiz is an interdimensional being). Core mechanics for ranged weapons are already in place so spells would be a snap to add. You could do a harry potter meets back to the future kind of thing lol. ::Other ideas:: Fisher-mans guild- There is something out at sea, bigger than a barnacle, smaller than a tree! Deep sea fishing hub. Various things that need to be done by the guild. Plow, end game item that you can attach to your horse for faster farming. Make it cost a boatload I have millions of $$$ and there is nothing to spend it on. Perhaps make it to where you have to spend 50million to unlock some new travel destination. Or just allow me to give it away to towns people or something. Maybe a charity. Perhaps that drunkard mum can stop drinking beer and start drinking Crystale, lol. Perhaps invest it in the town it self byt upgrading the blacksmith shop. Would be amazing if i could open my own restaurant in town . Using the varying quality of goods from the players farm. Wife is more useful: her use depends on who you chose. Certain women could be better than others at specific things which would also help refine them personality wise. Pub needs many more events. it is a place where the night owls / pm crowd go to have fun, it should feel bit more like it. maybe some random live performers. parties. birthday parties. 80s night where everyone gets dressed up and blasts 80tunes on the jukebox. Dancing would be nice. Deeply emotional events involving romance: especially when your married. intimate discussions, walks and watching sunrises together, that kind of stuff. She kind of just feels like a farm hand not paying rent lol. Please make having kids a interface option, and not having wife bring it up, it gets old fast. Or at least she brings it up once, and never again until the player brings it up. Assigning a romantic zone on your farm: Build a lovely custom romantic area on your farm, when done, highlight the area (or outline). Now when you have a certain kind of romantic outing event it will take place at that location close friends list. People that you like more than others. These people can be invited to outings and BBq events. maybe the people on this list gain hearts slightly faster. Fancy lighting: Different color torch light, like purple, blue, and green. Twinkle lights that could be strung up from pole to pole, or object to object. Roses: Different color rose bushes, white, black, blue, red. Shop has special requests for growing and creating certain products for him such as stuff like coffee, flower, salt, cinnamon, eggs, milk, etc. In doing so he may take on long term contract for items that sell well at his shop. Giving you a little bonus$$ Flower / food cart: stock and push the flower cart around town hoping for a purchase. maybe its something the wife can do on spare time. A food cart would be nice because your wife (or husband) could have cooking tiers. the more she sells over time the higher quality the goods she can cook. Horse breeding- For a horse race event. Breed that stallion. Dating women to test out the waters of compatibility. and plenty of cut scenes. Buying land. Eventually become the Mayer of the town. Lab that you can breed monsters at. Cool Armor that changes your appearance. Armor cosmetics or skins. Note: This is nothing more than my post to help ConcernedApe. Ideas spawn ideas (even bad ones). If someone else doesnt like something in it, i could care less. Keep it to yourself.
