So I finally got my Step mom into this game, enough for her to buy it for herself, she's never played a computer game before and when I loaded Stardew up it immediately crashed upon trying to load.

Went online to see if I could fix it for her and after more than a couple of hours I am at a complete loss.
    Nothing works.

Uninstalled and reloaded the game, steam, DirectX, everything suggested to me by the internet.
I even tried the headphones trick, nothing is working for me.

I loaded it up on the family Desktop and it booted up right away, no issues. Same with my laptop.
But for some reason I can't get it to work on hers.
    Any suggestions?

I really want her to be able to play, especially if I can co-op with her!

If you navigate to her "Stardew Valley\_CommonRedist" folder, you should see two more folder, I would try installing the XNA. Maybe the first installation went wrong.

If that doesn't work, I would say go to https://smapi.io and download SMAPI for the beta. It's currently at 2.6-beta.16, after you install that. Go to her Stardew Valley folder, and run the "StardewModdingApi.exe". It catches more errors than the normal game does. If the game still closes down after installing SMAPI and trying to run with it,

Go to https://log.smapi.io and follow the directions there, share the log with us. And we can take a look at it for you.

I’ve already tried the XNA install, but it didn’t work.
I will try the other suggestion!
        Thank you!
