I was recently playing Afterbirth and managed to reach and kill the Hush for the first time. I was extremely overpowered Krampus though so it was relatively easy - but interesting.

 

Destiny is shockingly good

 

Hush is a pretty cool boss concept, but the defense scaling makes it incredibly tedious and monotonous. I usually skip him even on strong runs whenever I play Afterbirth.
I personally think that Antibirth's final boss is much more fun than Hush.

You mean because of all the bad press it got? I have heard that Destiny is more of a love-it-or-hate-it kind of game.

Also, beating Mom's Heart but not Hush means completed run, but dying during Hush fight means a not completed one?

Hush takes less damage the more dps you have. There are ways to circumvent this, but they require a setup that is
1. very uncommon and
2. disadvantageous for the rest of the game.
