Damn. I was watching a streamer play Shadow of War, and over the course of five hours, there was one captain that kept dropping in on his fights and one-shotting him. The streamer eventually dedicated half an hour to killing him.

 

The last time I played that game was a couple hours fully devoted to at first hunting him down for revenge to having him crash the party, every party.
I would've kept playing if that guy didn't show up at any fight lasting more than a few seconds.

Oh, they usually stay dead. Either way, you have to approach each situation and captain and size it up. Worms are no longer "How can I instakill this guy" and now "What do I do to not get rekt?"
Finding out that your target can't be vaulted over and gets pissed when you try can really ruin your day.

Yup, that happens. It's so satisfying when you finally put that shrak-head down for good.

 

Everyone keeps talking about how great SoM was and how fantastic SoW is, but when I tried to play Mordor it was just kind of... boring? The combat was dull bog-standard Arkham style press-the-right-buttons-and-you'll-literally-never-die combat and I just couldn't bring myself to care about the Nemesis system for some reason.
Maybe I should give it another shot.

 

I recently started to play Shin Megami Tensei. It's really fun, unless an enemy kills your unit in one hit. I see some similarities to the original, first SMT. I hope the story will get a bit better than AI saying "DID YOU UNDERSTAND?" after every two sentences that you have to confirm.

Yeah. Thats basically the game in a nutshell.

Thats because I rarely go through the trouble to type it out.

The problem is it's way too easy. None of the truly interesting Nemesis interactions occur unless you're laughably bad at the game, handicapping yourself, or purposefully dying.
Shadow of War Fixes that.
Nemesis difficulty will kill you. It has no mercy, and you will die, again and again.

 

Actually, you can apply that logic to all games.
