DD/MM/YY is clearly the right choice, considering when you say the date it's "Day of Month, Year"
YY/MM/DD is reasonable, though, because at least that follows an order that makes sense.

Not baiting. I guess people in Europe uses DD/MM/YY but for the last decade I've been using MM/DD/YY because US has some of the most backward units.

Imperialist units can suck it.
