In my current MP game, only the host was evaluated by Grandpa on the first day of spring year 3. The clients all saw the cutscene, but their pronouns referred to the host's gender not the clients (clients were female, grandpa referred to them as male). No candles were lit for the clients. Clients did not receive any rewards. Clients were not able to trigger a re-evaluation. No mods. 1 Host 1 Client
To be fair, It's the host's grandpa. You are watching the host's special cut scene. I wouldn't consider it a bug. I think that's the logical scenario for the story line
