    Is anyone else having problems with a lot of avali villagers instantly dieing when you try to talk to them? Oddly enough in random villages I come across, it's usually the ordinary villagers who die, while the guards are fine, but for tenants at my own colonies, it seems to be the other way around, with the guards dieing when talked to, but ordinary villagers being fine.
    Might also be worth noting too that the ones who don't instantly die almost always have generic dialog. Just "Hello" or "Hi there" and nothing else.

    Are you using the latest version of the mod from GitHub?

    And also check starbound.log -- NPCs instantly dying is a result of behavioral AI LUA errors which will be logged in starbound.log in \Starbound\storage\.

    Anytime an NPC tries to do something the game doesn't understand (because of a LUA bug), it will instantly kill the NPC.

    Okay, I see two mods that affect NPCs: Earth's Finest and JobOffers.

    Try temporarily removing these two mods and see if it still happens. I'd start with JobOffers first, it seems more likely as the crash is happening when talking to an NPC.

    Well, considering they don't have a steam account they likely have the game either from GOG or the pirate bay ( or maybe KAT? Some other torrent site? ), so that workshop link is no use to them since they don't play the game on Steam where you can use the Steam workshop.

    I got mine from GOG. Steam is cancer, you actually look into it and you're just purchasing a "license to play the game" at best. imo, stuff like that is one of the few reasons to actually justify pirating a game (not to say that I do so myself, and not to encourage it, blah blah you know how that goes, not getting banned for my opinion on the matter here.)
    At least GOG does away with most DRM so you can play it without the need to start up some service which doesn't even work most of the time on OSes other then windows.

    See? Not banned. Anyways, you can share your licenses to play with other players, so it's not like you get anything less than what you would get if you just bought the game CD. Except over the Internet so if your friend lives on another continent you can still lend him games. Just because it's not for you, non-Windows user, doesn't mean it's automatically cancer.

    Right now I'm waiting for Starbound's next big update. Once that hits, I'll start making the changes needed to keep Triage up to date, as well as adding in a bunch of new dialogue (IE, figuring out how the 'new' conversations system works and implementing that, merging Objects+, etc.)
    The first Triage update after Starbound 1.4 will be almost entirely coding and dialogue, no new items. I do have a few loose plans, but we just need art for them.

    I'm looking for information on what kind of license the Avali - as a concept - are under. I messaged RyuujinZERO a few days ago, but he has not responded.
    I know that the original mod itself is "Anyone can alter/redistribute the mod's assets without the author's consent.", but that's not enough for me - is the concept of the Avali under a Creative Commons license or something?

    I was planning to reference the Avali, as a concept, in the context of being an historical fictional thing (think "people of the future remember Star Trek") in an otherwise unrelated work of fiction.
