That would depend on if avali, particularly off-world avali, coat their feathers with any sort of anti-stain nanotechnology. Technically we already have this kind of technology in real life, it's just kind of expensive.

 

Avali have their own instruments? Would make sense, seeing as they base a lot of their culture around sound, and weren't really introduced to aliens for a while.

 

They will, they haven't been created yet, though Ryuujin did say he had ideas...just hasn't started yet. i think that's fairly low on the priorities list, though.

Avali use body enhancements of varying kinds. What about coolant systems?

Sure it would most likely be better to just have it in a suit somehow but if an Avali for some reason was to stay on a warm-ish planet for an extended period of time or was simply traveling a lot that and was frequently on warmer planets it would probably be convenient.

I envision it something like a simplified second circulatory system but for cooling fluids. Set to automatically regulate to optimal temperatures of course.

Such a system is actually noted in the wiki, a blood cooling implant for maintaining core body temperature and reducing reliance on obstructive clothing.

Actually, their conflict 650 (Earth) years earlier was pre-FTL.

Post FTL, it's implied that yes, they've been in quite significant fights in recent history (Within 1 generation). Though not written up any specific accounts of examples.
