LOL the moment I made an Avali character was the moment I sold my Soul to Ryu

They probably would teach them the finer details of killing, since they don't have to bother with discipline the military may use their training time to teach them killing as an artform, pushing out at the end an artist, whose medium is preserving and the taking of life.

In that case i'm not sure Ryuu is really enjoying having mine.

That... you... that's a beautiful way to say that.

I'm a little freaked out though.

Edit: Actually, I think I might want to quote or paraphrase that. If I were to attribute it to an in-universe character, what would you like me to call him?

I was implying that you didn't get the significance of why I bolded that, but explaining it compromises it's potency.

Sounds like how the Eldar roll in Warhammer 40k. Their soldiers tend to spend time studying different aspects of killing and turn it into an art form.

    play nice :/

This is why I keep almost one of every gun type with me on my multiplayer profiles, so I can find effective combinations or strategies with them (the most recent is a combination revolver and cluster grenade launcher run and gun tactic). I like finding interesting new ways of removing pests from my immediate vicinity while I have more important things to do, unless what I'm doing actually requires something they could not give me while they are alive, meat can't be grown like crops (because if it could I would totally capitalize on that and make an industry of it)
As long as there just a little scared thats ok, they're easier to handle that way because they don't know what to expect.

Yup which is why they are one of the harder armies to use in 40k because every type of unit is specialized in ONE area. Though that doctrine would fit the Avali from the point in that packs specialize in areas they are good at.

I can see why you would say that, they sometimes are just not practical in the full course of events. There is a balance to be struck between efficiency in one area versus adaptability.

You're projecting again - you've been doing that a lot lately. We know the Avali use a specialisation system, with tribes that have a large-scale goal, and packs with specialties within that. ie. a tribe with manufacturing goals, will have packs that have expertise in areas like logistics, electronics, manufacturing engineering, materials science etc.

It seems logical this will extend to the military, with division/tribes having large-scale purposes (logistics, engineers, recon, peacekeeping), and then having packs with appropriate specialisations to make it happen (drone operators, quartermaster/logistics, marksmen, scouts, etc) the main exception to this system I foresee, is spacecraft which have naturally smaller crews, so we might expect to see individual packs who's members have a wider spread of skills (like 1 pack amounting to one crew; pilot, flight engineer, sensors, tactical, weapon systems, drone operator)

well, because of how difficult it is to find any settlements at all, nevermind an avali settlement, among a few destractions, I will in fact not be completing my current project this week.

I think a lot of what he does is due to his stuff on the server. Shadow is often very bossy and cranky.

But pack structure is does not require permanent membership, packs I imagine, would constantly shoot off new branches and members, who may, at some point, join another pack.

At least, that's how I understand Earth pack structures to work.

In any case, the Avali pack structures (given that they are an intelligent species), are probably a bit more stable than those of wolves for instance.

I'm just messing around, I've been really bored today and I seem to have a tendency to do silly things when I'm bored. I'll revise my post if that makes you feel better.

That's your problem, right there. Avali aren't from Earth!

Go read the wiki on how avali pack structure works.

Funny how we have the details of this one race more thought out than all the vanilla races combined!

I think almost any race in Starbound, including mods. Also the community is the most immature and funniest.

I'd rather if you'd just stop bringing unnecessary hostility and drama into this discussion thread. There is no excuse for the way you're behaving, not even on the DSM
