Mostly because you need it to make endgame armor for each class (except Summoner)

Play with mods.
Even the smallest of mods can add enough content to get you motivated for a second playthrough.

People do crazy shit with sandboxes.

 

It's not huge, but it's good quality mods. Quality over Quantity, as opposed to the modding community in Minecraft.
