Something like a personal scanner (or an additional Matter Manipulator function) for finding ores would be really cool. Eh, I nearly always play as a cute lesbian thief in Skyrim or Fallout lol.
The mini quests are one of my favourite things to do in the game so I'm glad there is gonna be more and also more complicated ones then just go find me something bring it to me
Yes it is, Steam will still says "disk write error". You have to go to the local content and play starbound directly from there.
scan the drive, then uninstall, then reinstall starbound. also, the original tech are back...and only them...Bounce, dash(no air dash) and pulse jump.... and the matter manipulator at least...with all the upgrades...
Yes, yeeeeeesssss! This is fantastic. And @HI-MAX² I've been playing Blade and Soul a bunch and the escort quests in there have yet to feel like a chore at all, the escort dudes kick some serious butt and haven't really been in dire need of aid ever. Though that could just be that my Summoner is awesome as hell.
There's an easier way to enable it: add the protectorate quest to the default quest for each race in quest.config and set protectorate as the intro dungeon in universe_server.config. This starts the game directly in the protectorate quest when creating a new char, as is probably the intended behavior.
Damn, that is a LOT easier. Thanks for the tip! New download: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B_9wfzG3JuItSUhDanVlNWlyeVU
For some reason Metal Slug comes to my mind. You know, that rescued prisoner using hadouken on enemies while following you. Ah, but this is totally different... (Sadly.)
Hey that could work. Maybe, adding a command to equip our rescued prisoner to defend him/herself would be great.
I don't like that myself, it takes focus away from the immersion and you end up simply following along the set straight line that is laid out for you. I'd much rather have location conveyed through lore and descriptions ("west of here" or "to the east deep underground") than I would have an arrow pointing at the goal. To me every part of the quest and the game itself is equally important, not just the set goal of the current quest. I personally want to wander and look for the answers, if you didn't find enough clues or paid too little attention then it's your own problem, the only issue with wandering is making sure you're in the right place, but that is as easily solved as making the quest entry highlighted once you are within the area. To me quest markers and compasses does nothing to improve a game, in itself it ruins my immersion into the game and worse than that it makes every other part of the game of no importance. I've pointed it out on the forum a while back, but once you start indicating specific points of interest so obviously, then you might as well not bother making the rest because players is going to completely ignore it, much rather I want quests to be a player going through a space station, asking around to see if anyone has any jobs, not just "oh look, an explanation mark... why do I have to walk so far?!".
Yeah I generally do like exploration. And locations are definitely conveyed at the beginning of the quest examples given. So I can see where you are coming from. However the way I see it I'd imagine your character would be smart enough to be capable of finding something say, as simple as a lone grave and a compass can be seen as just them keeping track of the location. Though I do think it should be optional I also think it has its place and I don't think it should be removes. Exclamation marks to indicate quests definitely work. You need some way to indicate that someone has a quest and it can be seen as that character trying to grab your attention. Given that this game encourages you to make multiple characters making you blindly stumble through everything would be tedious and far from fun. Personally things like that have never bugged me though so I have a hard time understanding where you are coming from. In Skyrim for example its pretty much improbably I'll find my way without those markers but having them there doesn't break my immersion at all. But To be fair you aren't being aggressive about it and everyone has their own preferences and opinions so I'm fine with this if this is how you feel. But given the way Starbound works I feel leading you to stumble blindly around would just detract from the experience. Well that is just their thoughts on it. After all he wouldn't be wrong in saying these sort of games often leave out LGBT representation for one reason or another. After all he didn't specifically say he himself would agree with the decision if they made it. A number of my characters in Starbound are LGBT though. If you are interested in hearing about them feel free to contact me and start a conversation.
@Sean10M, @Titanium: just so we're clear, what I doubted to be so was that the case were limited to separate genders. Which I then confirmed -- the date and the questgiver can be any gender combination and the text can and will adjust the pronouns accordingly. I do agree with the decision CF made -- "don't give a shit and merely make sure the pronouns make sense", apparently.
well if comes then it should be optional most players would be like "Stealth is an option..." its a old meme if you did't know
On the contrary I love stealth and I would hate to see it pushed to the side. Though maybe design it so its mandatory or you can just skip the stealth and power through it if you have crazy good gear.
